Season News – Week 2

Locked and loaded! The Podtacular season is under way.

The first week is over and this is the season update to let you know what went down and what you should expect for the following week.

Well, we didn’t have many surprises in the first week other than Dangle Snipes shutting down Mini Boss by 2-0 to set a nice and strong start for week one. If you have been following the Season Predictions topic you know that MB is one of the favorites among some of the members of the community. Well they will have to work hard for a good second week in order to keep their hopes up for this season. As many of you know only 2 teams from each group will advance to the second round.

The other nail bitter came from Team Supremacy vs Team H2SO4 taking a full series of 3 games to decide who would take the 3 points home. You can check the third game of the series in this week’s featured match to the right of the screen. Just click on the video to check out how it all went down!

So if you want to check out how the groups look like, just click on the group’s link above this page!

Well now some reminders and more information to make week 2 even more enjoyable.

I’d like to please ask all of you who are submitting your matches to use the following format on the subject line.

Team 1 (win) vs Team 2

It just makes my life easier to know who the winner is and who the matches were played against.

Well for the host. Please be sure to run a quick host check slayer match. About 30 seconds to make sure that the host is reliable, in order to avoid problems down the line. In order to answer all of your host questions please be sure to check this amazing link created by Kiaffex. In order to get there CLICK HERE

**** Also keep in mind that we are in the groups round, where you are only required to play a best of 3 matches. Meaning that if a team wins 2 in a row, there’s no need for the third match to be played. If you choose to play the last match, PLEASE do not submit it to me. I don’t need to see it. I just need the matches that are important for the point count.

And for the part you were all waiting for… Here are the matches that will be played this week.

NOTE: This week we will be using the winning map of the podtacular map contest. MLG REVERT. If you don’t have the map please be sure to download it HERE – SLOT 6

The format for this week will be: Objective – Slayer – Objective

CTF on MLG Revert (Please use GB CTF Ons for this gametype)

MLG Slayer on Narrows

MLG Ball on Guardian
Thanks everyone for playing your matches. And let’s see an even better week 2!
Good luck everyone.

Podtacular Season – News Update

As the first week of the season is being played out, i would like to come and mention a few points that will help with some questions surrounding some of our players.

First of all, the host rule. As many of you know, the host rules is not nearly as bad in Halo 3 as it used to be in Halo 2. Due to that fact we leave up to the teams of the season and their common sense to pick the first host and also choose the colors (Red or Blue). Therefore when doing those things, please be courteous and let’s avoid unneeded fights and arguments. Do a quick host check and jump into the fun. All right?!?

Second, i would like to address some changes made by MLG to some of our maps. They can be found HERE AT THIS LINK. Since we’re not using Onslaught this week, im not really worried about that. However in case Onslaught is being used next week, be sure to download the most up to date version or it.
Now for “The Pit” the change they made to it is very minor and i won’t hold teams accountable for downloading the most updated version or playing in the previous one. If you have the updated version, GREAT… if not, then not really a big deal. Just be sure to download and use it for upcoming weeks OR TILL V5 IS RELEASED. Which is when we will be switching the maps and gametypes to the most updated version.

Also just a reminder, be fair when schedulling your matches and try to make an effort with your team mates and oponents. Let’s make this easier on all of us.

Have a great rest of the week and be sure to PM me your results using the format described in the Season Update 1

Thanks again and Keep on Fraggin’ Trucks!

Podtacular Season Videos & Top 10

Hello everyone here’s a very important news story from Arc Blu. I wanted to publish it to the front page here so everyone is aware of our system. Also be sure to check out the video below!

So read on.. These are the words of our very own Arc Blu!

“Hey Guys,
Just thought I would create a quick tutorial on how to submit films and film clips for consideration for “Featured Matches” and “Weekly Top 10.” Take a quick look at this video, although you probably know how to use the Recommend to Friend feature on your File Share already. Besides that, I’ll run down a small schedule of when you need to submit your films by in order for me to consider them.

FEATURED MATCHES:
There will be 2 weekly featured matches; one to be released on Wednesday, one to be released on Saturday. In order for me to do this, I will have needed all submissions the night before (Tuesday by 11:59 EST & Friday by 11:59 EST). All matches for consideration will have to be matches that have been played for that week… no previous weeks please. All videos that are NOT selected for the Wednesday featured match still have a chance, however, so submitting early has its benefits. All films submitted for the week will be considered for the Saturday featured match, even if they were submitted by the Tuesday cutoff.

WEEKLY TOP 10:
Each week a Top 10 film clips will be decided on from the week before. This means that on the second Saturday, the first weeks Top 10 will be released. Other than that, the Top 10 must be submitted in clip form, not as whole films. Less work on me = better chance u can get a spot.

Good Luck, Happy Season,
And if u have any questions, post them below in the comments!

Season Update – Week 1

Get your BR’s ready because it’s time to lock and load. The podtacular season starts tomorrow and on this update you will find the games that will be played this week, some reminders and some of the buzz that’s been going around. Well let’s get down to business.

This week we will start the season with MLG V4 games. We have previously mentioned that we will be using V5 games for the remainder of the tournament. However, they’re not out yet so we will use these until we v5 is out and we have given the go ahead here for that particular week. So with that in mind make sure that CTF games will also be used under the Game Battles format, which has a time limit of 15 mins. If you have any questions regarding any game type please PM myself (Dialpex) or Kiaffex and we will be happy to answer any questions.

Well here are the games for this week.

The format to be followed is: Slayer – Objective – Slayer

MLG V4 Slayer on Guardian
MLG V4 KoTH on Construct
MLG V4 Slayer on The Pit

Keep in mind that the games must be played in that particular order.

Some of the questions that came up this week were regarding the armor/helmet rule. There are no rules regarding that. The only rule is that the players all be using the Spartan character.

Keep in mind that each team will host one game. Also its advised that a 30 seconds free for all slayer match is done before the matches just to assure that the host used is reliable.

All Parties must be set to 8 players limit, in case a team member lags out he can then be invited back and return to the game.

All right, i believe this is about what we all needed to get this “party” started. Remember, play fair as we’re in a community tournament. Save all your trash talk for someone else. We have always watched behavior and we always will. Complaints are not taken lightly and we will disqualify those teams that take that to a different level.

Hope you guys have a great week and remember!!! Very important!

After your games are played you can submit your bungie URLS directly to me at podtacular.com. Just shoot me a PM with the links and at the subject field use the following format. (Example: Team Supremacy(WIN) vs Team Number 1 )

Thanks again and have a great time.
