This is a hard article to write, but it has to be done. The Podtacular Audio Podcast, started in July 2005, will be retiring in April. The last show will be recorded on April 8th, 2008. No, this is not an April fool’s joke. This may be bad news, but I have good news too. Read on for more.

Podtacular wins “Best Tournament”
You heard it right!!! The Podtacular community won “Best Tournament” at the community award hosted by the Second Foundation guys.
The 2007 Summer Season Tournament had a big and positive impact in the halo community to the point of achieving recognition from fellow friends and community members. It was a pleasure to have all the people that participated in this because without everyone this would not be possible.
So i want to first thank Kiaffex and CapnKrunk for being my partners in this project, because every season is truly a project that lasts weeks, and of course thank all the Podtacular Community that supports what i do here. You guys are the reason and the fuel to keep me going in order to achieve milestones such as this one.
Thanks SigaFoo and the SF crew and for more discussions at the podtacular forum click HERE.
See you guys next season! Continue reading

Join the Cause: Fight Back for Podtacular
I agree 100% with everything CapnKrunk says about some of the recent tomfoolery in the community. He pointed out some activity that needs to stop. If you’re like me, we’re not interested in these silly teenage politics, but we are interested in making Podtacular a fun and friendly place where people can make friends and play Halo. Consider this a last stand to make Podtacular what it should be. If you’re a part of the solution, if you’re with us, help me raise the banner and fight back with everything we’ve got… the right way. This is OUR community! Read on to see what weapons you have in your arsenal.

How to kill a community
One of the greatest things about the interwebz is its ability to bring together groups of people from all across the world to share their experiences and ideas on any given subject. At some point, these groups and discussions become so large and complex that relationships and communities start to form to hold things together. Within that, people will eventually either step up, or by virtue of their contribution, be considered responsible enough, to take on a role of leadership or authority. It’s just the natural order of things.
These are things I learned long ago. These are things that I know aren’t easy to manage or maintain, but they are a necessity.
What makes a community successful is when everyone, no matter their role or place in the scheme of things, can respect and abide by the order set in place. There will be conflict and there will be strife, but the one thing that remains is that we have to believe that it works. When that is lost, then things can rapidly take a turn for the worse.

Tied the Leader Charity Contest: Guess the Census
Dweezle over at Tied the Leader told me about a charity event being held over there. It’s a pretty cool idea: you guess how many people will be online playing Halo 3 on 1/17 at 1:17 PM. Closest one to the number wins, and all proceeds go to charity.
