For Jake’s Sake Charity Halo 3 Tournament

Miss Tique from Team Bombshells told me about a new Halo 3 charity tourney coming up:

We are hosting a charity Halo 3 tournament next week on 12/21 at 7pm EST and continue throughout the night. We have partnered up with UGS, GnG Magazine, Charity Gamers and Gamers United. It will be 4v4, it is a min of $5 per player towards the For Jakes Sake Foundation. The winning team will win 30% of the pot as a thank you for their contributions. So more the money, bigger the pot, and more towards Jake.

Who’s Jake you might ask? At the age of 3 he has Mitochondrial Disorder, and his family are running into a financial hardship to pay for his medical bills. Team Bombshells has teamed up with them to help them raise the awareness of this disorder and to help their son have a normal healthy life. There’s more info at For Jakes Sake to read about what this disorder can do to someone. Register for the tournament here!

Foo Mo sez “I’m Easy!”

WTF?!With a keen eye and ever-sarcastic gaze, the folks over at Sarcastic Gamer have just discovered a stunning, earth-shattering truth about our great leader, Foo Mo Jive.

He plays Halo 3 on Easy. Yeah, really.

Also known as Baby Mode, or in the parlance of the streets, Sucka Mode. Yeah, REALLY.

Why, you ask? Well, as far as the rest of us at Podtacular headquarters know, he was probably just looking to boost his ‘cheevo score and find some skulls buried deep in the bowels of the Cortana level (who knows what’s up in there) but we all know that there’s no acceptable reason to be playing Halo 3 on Easy. Not unless you’re going head-to-head with Mr. T, Chuck Norris and Ahnuld all at once and the only way to escape with your life is to start up campaign in true sissy fashion. Even then, it might be best to take the pummeling and at least go out like a man.

Either way, here’s hoping that one Mr. Foo Mo Jive can show his face and we can all rest easy that this was just a case of mistaken identity, or some other semi-believable circumstance that would keep the world from collapsing upon itself. Please?

What’s New at Podtacular: Community Projects

One of my favorite things about Podtacular is how it’s not just my community, it’s your community. It’s so cool how the community takes ownership of itself and puts together some great stuff, making friends along the way. Here are some perfect examples:

 • Pod TV is putting out new episodes – You’ve seen the first grand slam Halo 3 show, and there’s plenty more in the hopper for Cryptoflix and the Pod TV team. They recently got a nice influx of talented help so they’ve got quite a team going.
 • Halo News is on it’s way back!Chevelle65 and the Halo News crew are working hard to bring back one of the most genuinely funny machinima series ever. The ones that assembled the Halo Voltron are coming back soon with a bang!
 • Monthly Porridge is in the works… – You thought Quality Jeverage had retired his regular Podtacular comic? Think again! No seriously, think again.
 • Podtacular Radio is returning! – DJ Painkilla05 is frantically spinning his wheels of steel to bring us more music to frag by.
 • Podtacular Review FrenzyKillazilla and the review crew are ready to provide you with a full and complete review and all of the insights for all the brand new and upcoming games to hit shelves this year.

Yes, new life has been breathed into the old favorites. But it doesn’t have to end there. You can start your own project and work together with the Podtacular community! If you have an idea, share it in a thread on the forums and see if people like it and will help. Then get crackalackin’! I look forward to seeing what you come up with. You could also contact the leaders of Pod TV, Review Frenzy, or Halo News and see if they’re looking for any help, I’m sure they’d appreciate the offer. Let the community projects return and begin!
