In case you’re wondering the title is right. Fight like a girl!!! Our Community neighbors, The Cavegirls, are having a fund raising FFA tournament. The proceeds of that tournament will be directed to the fight against breast cancer. So why not help out and have some fun with them!? huh? The tournament will take place on October 21st 2006 at 6:00PM EST time, Online. The entry fee is only $10.00 and anyone can sign up.

What if Halo was an RTS(Real-time strategy)? Or a third-person shooter? Or it had 32 weapons, different vehicles, and you could ride a lizard? Well it used to be all of these things. Check out this look back at early builds of Halo with naaration by some Bungie guys. They go through and name the vehicles and weapons too, like the “gravity wrench” (pictured), the speargun, the alien rocket launcher, the “stealth tank,” the “horseshoe crab” and more. After reading about it’s release, I decided to check out the new Halo Portal service, now available to US Verizon Wireless customers with Get it Now-enabled cellphones.

Details: There are three available packages, priced at $2.49, $5.99 and $9.49 (1, 3 or 5 uses, respectively). You can access wallpapers, ringtones, check your game stats and and even unlock special content. New and limited-edition content will also be added on a weekly basis.

We knew about Halogen being cancelled and that made some speculate on Bungie possibly working on a RTS(Real Time Strategy) game. Well the rumors are confirmed today: Ensemble Studios, makers of the Age of Empires series of RTS games, is working on a Halo RTS called Halo Wars! There was a trailer shown at X06 today. They also announced something I’m excited about: Peter Jackson was there and announced that they will be creating an interactive film experience that is a new chapter in the Halo universe. He’s actually “creating a new game studio for this called Wingnut Interactive”:http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/news/events/x06/microsoftannouncespartnershipwithpeterjackson.htm. This is all over and above Halo 3 and the Halo movie.

WOW… Don’t you wish you were there? Yes.. It looks like the bungie guys are having a lot of fun during the test of this amazing new game we’ve been waiting for. This week they took on each other there and had a blast playing some games, having some fun and just testing what will surely be the best Halo game of all the series.
