This weekend is San Diego Comic Con, and 343 is there in force to talk about Halo: Nightfall and the Master Chief Collection. On Thursday, they had the Nightfall panel, where we got our first look at the series, which is the subject of this show. With our guests FinalPOSTMORTEM and TDSpiral, we talk about how Nightfall will incorporate into the current Halo Universe, what we could see in the series, and Locke’s integral part in Halo 5: Guardians. Also, here is the trailer for Halo: CE SPV3 from CMT.

New Halo 2 Anniversary Cinematics Trailer

During yesterday’s Master Chief Collection panel at San Diego Comic Con, we got our first cinematic look at what is to come from Blur Studio and their efforts for the remastered Halo 2 Anniversary cinematics.  We were shown frames from the upcoming cutscenes at E3 earlier this year.  Needless to say, they’re stunning at the least and can we have this already?

Zanzibar Returns in Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer

Halo 2 Anniversary – Zanzibar

You heard that right, Camp Froman is making it’s return with the remastered Zanzibar map.  Zanzibar joins Ascension and Coagulation along with three remaining maps in the Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer experience to be included in this fall’s Master Chief Collection.  It is also home to the infamous Team Bubble Bath gametype created right here among the Podtacular community.

First Look at Halo: Nightfall

Taking place between the events of Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, Halo:Nightfall follows the origin story of legendary manhunter Jameson Locke (Mike Colter) and his team as they are caught in a horrific terrorist attack while investigating terrorist activity on the distant colony world of Sedra. Led by Locke, the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) agents are forced to coordinate with a Sedran commander with a remarkable history and deep-rooted mistrust of ONI. As the plot unravels, they’re drawn to an ancient, hellish artifact where they’re forced to fight for their survival, question everything, and ultimately choose between their loyalties and their lives. Agent Locke is a new character in the Halo universe poised to play a major role in Halo 5: Guardians releasing on Xbox One in 2015.

Play as Agent Locke in Halo 5: Guardians

During the Halo: Nightfall panel at San Diego Comic Con, 343 Industries officially revealed that Agent Jameson Locke will be a playable character in Halo 5: Guardians.  Gamers will begin their journey playing as Agent Locke come Halo 5’s release in November this year.  Halo: Nightfall is expected to be tied in more closely to Halo 5: Guardians than Forward Unto Dawn was for Halo 4.

Podtacular 433: Anniversary Mayhem

The news train for Halo: The Master Chief Collection keeps rolling through with info more info dropped during the Halo panel at RTX 2014.  On last week’s show, we touched on a few things that they revealed, but we go over all the new developments from RTX on the latest Halo experience.  San Diego Comic Con is right around the corner though and 343 has given us a glimpse of what will be there in this week’s Halo Bulletin.  Flamesword makes the Community Spotlight this week and a British actress, Christina Chong, has been announced to be a lead actor for Macer in the upcoming Halo: Nightfall production.

Among the official news is also community related news that we’re excited about.  Our good friends over at Drunken Halo Podcast are hosting their third 1v1 tournament.  The Forward Unto Dawn Podcast is back after a five-month hiatus talking about their take on the latest Halo developments and how everything behind the mythos of the universe is being affected.  Over at HaloGAF, our friends have restarted their podcast under the name Reclaimer Radio.
