The Electronic Entertainment Expo is just days away and Halo is expected to have a huge presence there this year. There are plenty of rumors around the internet about a Halo 2 Anniversary announcement, information regarding the video productions for the franchise, possible spin-off games like Halo Wars 2 or Spartan Assault 2, and much, much more. We have the privileged of being at E3 this year and will keep you up to date on all the E3 Halo happenings and news. Also, make sure you update your Twitter follows and follow @Halo, the new home for official Halo news. In other recent news as detailed in this week’s Halo Bulletin, ASTRO Gaming has teamed up with 343 Industries to make Halo-branded products and Halo: Spartan Assault is available for Free on Xbox One under the Games with Gold program introduced this month.

Halo and ASTRO Matchmade in New Partnership

ASTRO headsets have made quite a name when it comes to getting the best audio experience for competitive Halo play, so it’s no surprise to see that 343 Industries has announced a new partnership with ASTRO Gaming.  As part of the agreement, Skullcandy, Inc. and it’s ASTRO Gaming division will work to deliver Halo-branded headsets, speaker tags and more over the next few years in support of new releases within the Halo franchise.  More information regarding products will be available at a later date, but if you’ve been on the edge about buying ASTRO headsets, this may be the nudge you need to push you over the edge and get some official Halo gear.

Microsoft is bringing their Games with Gold program to the Xbox One this month to bring free games to Xbox Live Gold subscribers for the lifetime of their subscriptions.  One of the first two titles under the program is Halo: Spartan Assault, which is available now for download.  If you have Xbox One and have not picked up Spartan Assault yet, head on over to the store and grab your copy before the end of June.

We’re back with a short week of news this week as we enter the calm before the E3 storm that will surely release a dropship full of Halo news. There is still some stuff to talk about though with the ever trusty weekly Halo Bulletin. In there, we find the sixth issue of Halo: Escalation, a Forge contest hosted by Beyond Entertainment, an epic Forged remake of a Mammoth by Pete the Duck, and the Halo Mash-up pack dropping on Minecraft this week. On the community side of news, we have a medals mod for Halo PC multiplayer, Halo Charts has returned, and we introduce a new segment where we cover a topic that has been posted in our forums. This week, we highlight a thread on dual-wielding for Halo 5 started by community member Hoss Sauced. Apologies for the audio quality this week. We’re getting Brent squared away with some new gear thanks to your support of the show.

Halo Arrives on Minecraft Tomorrow!

We mentioned last week that PlayXBLA showed off some Minecraft screenshots from the upcoming Halo mash-up pack.  Well, the wait is over.  Tomorrow, May 28th, you’ll be able to pick up the Halo Minecraft Pack for $3.99 on Xbox 360.  This pack includes 40 Halo character skins, 31 music tracks inspired by the Halo music you’ve come to know and love, custom craft-able Halo blocks and items, pre-made worlds with some of your favorite Halo maps, and much more.
