Podtacular 314: Halo 4 is Golden

Just when we thougth we covered everything the weekend had to offer, EuroGamer drops more Halo 4 goodies for us. We’ve got a glimpse of yet another two maps and a new game mode that was leaked earlier last week. The new map Complex is what you would expect: a big Forerunner complex surrounded my some amazing scenery. On that map we got our first look at the new Flood Mode, which is 343i’s renovation of Infection. Ragnarok is a remake of the Halo 3 map Valhalla and on that map, the Mantis, which is the big mech, is playable as a vehicle. The Prometheans Weaponry video was released in this week’s bulletin to show off all six weapons. This weekend presented us with a dump truck load of Halo 4 information. Whether it’s Campaign or War Games you’re after, there is information in here for everyone. We have some gameplay from the first and third missions of Halo 4, and if you were worried about it containing spoilers, you can put those fears to rest. Go watch the videos cause there’s nothing spoilerific about it. Spartan Ops gameplay footage showed us some vehicle combat in wide open spaces, showing off the increasing diversity of this brand new experience. And what would a news drop be without Multiplayer info. We got our first look at a new map: Solace and a new gametype: Dominion. Podtacular 312: Making Prometheans, Covenant Weaponry

With last week being the show that broke records (at least while I’ve been doing the show), we are making up for last weeks bulletin and covering this week’s as well. The Making Halo 4: Part 2 introduces us to the Prometheans: the warrior class of the Forerunners. The Knights are the centerpiece of the new enemy class, and with the cohesion of the new enemy types, prioritization is going to be key when you run into a group of them. Many of the Covenant classics are making a comeback in Halo 4’s arsenal of Covenant weapons. The Carbine makes it’s glorious return and the new Storm Rifle is the Plasma Rifle/Repeater replacement. Podtacular 311: Halo Council Interview
This week we join forces with The Halo Council, who has become the leader in bringing the Halo Community news about competitive Halo. Started back in the Fall of last year, it has been the new haven for competitive Halo players to get their fill on all info related to Halo 4 multiplayer. Ever since Halo’s loss of focus on the MLG circuit, the leaders of the competitive Halo community have brought together many pro players and have shown a different light on who they actually are: hardcore Halo fans just like the rest of us. Three people you probably have heard of quite recently join us to give us some history behind The Halo Council and to give us their thoughts on all of the latest Halo 4 info: CyRen, u4iX and LastMan.
