GLewis, Brent Gamer and I are here in Dallas for MLG Dallas and we are going to be releasing clips throughout the event, so make sure you keep up with the Podtacular twitter account and keep an eye on livestream.com for a couple of live events. We will be recording MLG Live someday this weekend, which will be live.
The Halo 3 Wheelmen are a clan from the Good Game Network and our veteran clan leader JP Oliver took on the large task of planning this event before school started back up for most people. Thankfully, he pulled it off! We had enough players that we could rotate some people in and out but not as many as were expected, based on sign-ups.
In both games, it came down to power weapon and vehicle control, as most Halo 3 matches do. A bubble shield does not a victory make.
First up was Team Slayer on Standoff and the Wheelmen lived up to their name. One warthog and a laser was really all they needed to keep us hiding in the base and quickly killed when we ventured out or spawned outside. H3WM Psyfireman proved his Wheelmanly-ness with a staggering 22 Wheelman medals. Final score: Podtac – 22, H3WM – 50
Next, we played Neutral Assault on Rat’s Nest and our trouble controlling the map and weapons showed again. In a short amount of time, we were overwhelmed. Final score: Podtac – 0, H3WM – 3
These were followed by some mixers where the clans shuffled together and we played odd games like Territories on Guardian. Much fun was had.
We certainly hope to do better in the next match, which should be very soon. Discuss the results in the forums…

As some of you will remember from the old site, everyone had their own blogs and with the site change, the blogs were lost. The forums now have a blog section where everyone has a blog. We heard it was coming and now its here, a new ViDoc from Bungie features everyone’s favorite manly-man, Sgt. Johnson, giving the full lowdown on Firefight. Of course, he does not neglect to mention that those who pre-order ODST (from participating retailers) will get the ultimate confidence booster, namely himself in the Fight. He also reveals that there are 10 Firefight maps!
Around The Ring is back! Finally! Once again we’re late on the post, and once again it’s all Dust Storms’ fault. This week we continue the streak of terrible audio with the loss of my headset, and debate the pros and cons of Computers and Consoles as gaming platforms. Guess what the deciding factor was? Dropping in to guest host from Respawn Radio is Lono (pronounced “lawno”), Facehead from the Podtacular community, and everyone’s returning favorite: TheCrazyCommie! It was quite an episode, and made for a good start. As well you get the hear the new theme which…uh…well…hopefully you’ll like it more than I did!

This show was a huge success, especially for those who came and listened to us on our livestream channel while we broadcasted live. Unfortunately, the quality is a little clipped. For some reason, my recording software didn’t want to record until I updated it, so it didn’t record the skype chat. I had to use the audio from the video stream, and apparently, it got clipped a lot and no one even told us in the chat that it was too loud and getting clipped, so what I have for you is that. Sorry about the quality, but I’m sure you will enjoy the content. We had quite a few guests show up and a few that didn’t: Founder of Podtacular: Foo Mo Jive, First Co-host: SpelChek (splee cheeks), Around the Ring Host: Lancelot, Old Website Administrator: CapnKrunk, and Backup Host: ChuckieJ.
