We’ve got a short show, again without DJ as he’s recovering from the smote on the US West Coast, and with us going on break, we just decided to do a quick wrap-up to come back swinging in a couple of weeks. We have several guests and topics we’re excited to cover so enjoy the week off and be ready for a nice comeback. Also, Halo 3: ODST comes out within the week!
It’s time for another book discussion as we dive into the second installment of the Battle Born series: Meridian Divide. We continue our story following the four teens as they attempt to prevent the Covenant getting their hands on the Forerunner artifact on Meridian, but that’s just scratching the surface. There’s not a lot of community for Halo specific updates this week, but we did get the price and release date drop for the Xbox Series X and S.
It’s Monday time, which means it’s Machinima time. Machinima Monday is a feature for awesome Halo Machinimas, both new and old. This weeks feature is a trailer for an upcoming Machinima called ‘Last Man Standing’.
This trailer features both traditional in game Machinima action and awesome CGI additions, something that Machinimas seem to adapt a bit more day by day.
The description for the ‘Last Man Standing’ trailer is as follows:
Inspired by KnightmareFilmz Zombie Matchmaking comes the trailer for Last Man Standing. The greatest Zombie survival game Halo has ever seen!
Now it’s important to note that this is just the trailer for the Machinima. The actual Machinima will premiere on Saturday September 19th, 2020 at 5pm EST via ThaGreatIsaiah YouTube Channel.
ThaGreatIsaiah has created a lot of incredible Halo Machinima so I’d recommend checking out their channel and other projects.
It’s pretty infrequent where we get a running gag in a show that we can pull off a non-Halo title, but is totally related to the continued running joke throughout. This is one of those time and it just so happens DJ is to blame this time. Between community creation stories and dolphins, this one is certainly a delight. We’ve not got just one, but two community spotlights to pick out our favorites from, new Halo products, Monster Double XP announcement, MCC development update, and plenty more Halo tid-bits to discuss.
It’s yet again time for Machinima Monday, the feature in which we showcase some awesome Halo themed Machinimas. This weeks feature is a fairly new Machinima called ‘Return to Reach Adventures’, as it is less than a week old at the time of writing. That means now is the best time to jump in and start watching, as you can watch every episode as it releases.
The full title for this Machinima episode actually includes ‘(Ft. Steve Downes)’. Seems like a dream right? The legendary voice actor of Master Chief staring in a brand new and fun Machinima? This is reality though, and the results couldn’t have been better.
The description for ‘Return to Reach Adventures: Ep1’ is as follows:
The Director Team, composing of Archon, CastScarab9, and Numbskill, find themselves in quite the common situation; A voice actor, taking forever to turn their lines but, after 5 weeks, the team finally receives lines from the voice actor in question. Only to receive disappointment and even Insult to injure. The team was very disappointed with the final product and as a result, they go to confront the voice actor and find out that he’s doing, who he is, and why he said what he said. The Legendary Master Chief Spartan John-117 even makes a legendary appearance in this Legacy style machinima!
As you might of guessed from the description, this Machinima really does focus on comedy. I can personally say that I had a good laugh watching this episode and I cannot wait to see what the future episodes hold.
The creators of this video, High Council Media, have a ton of other projects on their channel too, so once you’re done watching ‘Return to Reach Adventures: Ep1′ I’d fully suggestion watching some of their other amazing works.
A Halo veteran has returned! Joe Staten, the mastermind behind most of the campaign experience during the Bungie era games has returned to Halo development as the Project Lead for Campaign for Halo Infinite after releasing Tell Me Why just last week. Since missing a week due to yet more technology issues, we have a lot of community content to highlight as we work back to a normal schedule. We’ve also got ODST flighting!
All good things come with time and patience and unfortunately with the announcement of Halo Infinite being delayed until 2021, we’re going to have to exercise that patience a little longer. Ultimately, this will ensure the team is not overworked at home because of COVID and we get the product we all want at launch. In the meantime, there’s still plenty of new community happenings going on including the return of the MCC Pro Series and the latest Community Spotlight.
