Streamer Showcase: Vetoed

Another month goes by… again. Maybe one of these days we’ll get regular with this article. (Blame it on Dust’s not so secret machinima project.) Our featured streamer this week is no stranger to the Halo community and as one of the original HCS Grassroots Partners, needs very little introduction, but let’s show him some love.

No stranger to the competitive side of Halo, Vetoed is probably one of the most level-headed and chill players when on stage as seen when he streams and when he has competed in HCS. He started streaming Halo 3 competitively back in 2014 grinding out Lone Wolves and hunting rank 50s. With numerous 24-hour streams and an aggressive streaming schedule, Vetoed quickly rose to the top of the Halo directory and became partnered in June 2016. When Halo 5: Guardians launched, he created the team Overdrive and completed in the Halo Championship Series. Given his competitive edge and streaming accolades, he also was in the first wave of HCS Grassroots partners. Although he doesn’t stream as frequently as he used to, Vetoed rocks an impressive 33K followers and just under 500 subscribers and regularly streams Halo with a few other games mixed in..

Vetoed does not currently have a streaming schedule. You can subscribe to him on Twitch and follow him on Twitter and YouTube.

Podtacular 738: Save Their Heads, Dispose of the Rest

We have a very special guest on this week taking up our whole two hours to share stories and provide answers to the community’s questions for Tim Dadabo, voice of 343 Guilty Spark. Recounting tales from Halo: Outpost Discovery, to discussing Tim’s entry into voice acting, we hope you’ll find this interview with our first voice actor on the show an enticing one.

Huge thanks to Archangel470 for creating this week’s podcast artwork. Full version can be seen here.

Machinima Monday: The Running Dead Season 2

The last two Machinima Mondays have shown some series that did things a little different than the ordinary Halo Machinima. This week though it’s back to tradition with a good old fashion Halo Machinima called The Running Dead’. More specifically, the second season.

Whilst technically not yet released, The Running Dead’ has received a brand new launch trailer for the second season of the Machinima. The description of this launch trailer goes into a bit more detail about the first season too, so I’ll let the description do the talking.

The description of the The Running Dead’ season 2 launch trailer is as follows:

The Running Dead was first released almost 7 years ago… Season 2 will finally release a week from today.

The entire cast, team, and myself have poured our whole hearts into this project. Hundreds of hours have been spent making this season the biggest love letter I could ever give back to you all. I hope you’ll join us on June 20th at 8:00pm CDT for the premiere of Episode 1!

*Filmed on MCC Halo: Reach and Source Filmmaker, The Running Dead Season 2 will introduce new characters as well as returning season 1 elements and characters.

As mentioned above, the first season of The Running Dead’ started 7 years ago. Oh how time flies. Whilst this is just a short launch trailer, it does give us a taste of the theme of the Machinima.

The studio making the Machinima is also called KnightmareFilmz, so that at least should slightly hint as to why this launch trailer is knightmare inducing. Get it? Anyways, if you want to watch the first season of The Running Dead’ be sure to check out the YouTube channel.

Podtacular 737: Surprise Drop

The world is certainly in a state of chaos, but while we continue to social distance and fight for social justice, thankfully Halo is still here and we have a couple of great announcements this week. First was the unexpected announcement of Halo 3: ODST’s Firefight mode coming to MCC and second was the start of Halo 3 flighting on PC to include Forge and Theater! All of the hosts and most of the staff will be playing and streaming over the next week or however long the flight lasts, so make sure you check out their personal stream channels. And as always, we cover the latest community news and playlist updates.

Machinima Monday: Reclaimer (Teaser Trailer)

Last week’s Machinima Monday was a little bit different than the usual. This week that trend is continuing with a Machinima Monday that doesn’t actually feature a full Machinima. Usually Machinima Monday shows off already finished series or films, but this week, the feature is a teaser trailer for an in development Machinima called Reclaimer’.

Reclaimer’, as previously mentioned, is currently in development. Not much is known about the series apart from that it is due to release in December 2020. Whilst December 2020 may seem like a lifetime away, that release date is somewhat reassuring, as it tells us that the project will feature much love, passion and dedication to get it perfected for release.

The description of the Reclaimer’ teaser trailer is as follows:

Samantha Chloe is on a path of revenge, redemption, and self-discovery. She will learn the harsh truths about war, and who is worth fighting for.

The series begins December 2020.

Reclaimer will be the fourth Machinima series that Lazy Bunch will create and produce.

As mentioned in the description above, Reclaimer’ is the fourth Machinima series by Lazy Bunch. Lazy Bunch have a great track record with creating Machinima series. Their series ‘The Perfect Soldier: Elimination’ reached a total of 13 episodes, and can now be viewed as a singular movie compilation. I’m personally looking forward to this new project by Lazy Bunch and wish them all the best with the production of Reclaimer’.

Machinima Monday: Dawn Under Heaven

This Machinima Monday is a little bit different than usual, in the sense that this weeks feature is a real life Halo production, rather than an in game one. We’re happy to feature the Halo Fan Film ‘Dawn Under Heaven’.

‘Dawn Under Heaven’ is a 30 minute fan film that took nearly 10 years to make, if we’re going from when the film was originally thought of. The film wasn’t created by a specific studio. Just a bunch of passionate fans, all of which you can find credited on the fan film’s website.

The description of ‘Dawn Under Heaven’ is as follows:

A futuristic war film based on the Halo franchise, Dawn Under Heaven takes place during the fall of planet Reach by the Covenant armada in the year 2552. It’s a story about friendship, hope, and sacrifice in the face of overwhelming odds.

The project began in Lee Anderson’s garage in the summer of 2010 during the emerging era of Halo cosplay, YouTube culture, and affordable digital filmmaking tools. At the time there was a surprising lack of live-action Halo storytelling, which drove us (and many other fan films) to build our own piece of the Halo universe.

Over on the ‘Dawn Under Heaven’ YouTube channel are a ton of behind the scenes videos and vlogs which really help show off the amount of passion and love that went into the project. You can find more on the channel here.
