Machinima Monday: The Script

Welcome back to another Machinima Monday everyone! We’ve really been enjoying the nostalgia trip and there will be plenty more of that to come, but for now, we take a break and turn to something akin to a PSA.

Simply titled, The Script, this video gives an example of, what happens “when the script is poorly written”. The machinima itself is satirical in nature, but aims to bring to light some less than desirable personalities when making machinima. We won’t spoil the details, but it’s an entertaining watch.

Podtacular 732: Teammate Joined

We’re still in a bit of a news drought, but we did get work of an Xbox Series X press event happening net week showcasing some of the games on the console being developed by 3rd party developers, so it’s not likely we’ll see any Halo Infinite new, but one can hope. In addition to a Twitter community update, conclusion to the Halo 2 PC flight for MCC, and our normal community update, we are pleased to introduce to the co-hosting cohort of Dust Storm and Godzilla T, a community veteran and life-long Grifballer: DJBluePDX! In addition to finding him on Mixer, you’ll now be able to find him on the podcast here every week! We’re happy to welcome him and we hope you will too!

Machinima Monday: Outpost: Coagulation

Monday can of course mean one thing, Machinima Monday. Every Machinima Monday a Halo Machinima is featured, whether it be a full series or a one off video. This week is no different, with the feature being a series called ‘Outpost: Coagulation’.

‘Outpost: Coagulation’ was created by TreeskunkProductions. With the first episode being uploaded in 2008, the series would then continue up until episode 10. Each episode is anywhere between 5 and 10 minutes in length, so finishing the series doesn’t take too long at all.

As noted in the title of each episode, ‘Outpost: Coagulation’ is a Halo 2 Machinima, which of course brings that extra retro feeling that old Machinima series are known for. It also includes some of that classic edgy humour that early series are known for, so if you don’t mind laughing at sometimes offensive jokes, you’ll likely enjoy this series.

The description for the first episode of ‘Outpost: Coagulation’ is as follows:

“Attack of the Moron”

Rico, the human commander, assaults the elite base and steals their flag and forces their un-experienced cook Shadow to help him beat back the counter attacking elites. An episode filled with action suspense and…lemonade?

Each description for every episode gives us a little slice of what’s going on, without spoiling the overall episode. Something that many series may forget to do. The joking and playful nature of these descriptions for ‘Outpost: Coagulation’ certainly helps add to the charm of the series as a whole.

As mentioned earlier, there are 10 episode for this series, but each is relatively short. I’d recommend starting and maybe even finishing the series, as it takes no time at all and provides a ton of laughs along the way.

If you’re in a Machinima mood you could also check out TreeskunkProductions other Halo series for more laughs and fun.

Podtacular 731: The Holey Rings

We have a double feature this week as we just released our interview with Installation 00 yesterday, which was pre-recorded before this episode. Both together would have resulted in over three hours of content, so we decided to keep them separate for this week. We cover the latest community spotlight, have a new poll to discuss, and some unconfirmed “leaks” that we chime in on going around the community.

Podtacular 730: Interview with Installation 00

We had a strong start this year with guests on the podcast and we’re happy to bring on more guests. On this episode, we have our interview with Installation 00, a YouTuber who has been making waves in the lore community with his detailed breakdowns of multiple different subjects. Although he’s one of the more recent YouTubers in the scene, he’s really taken off just crossing 50,000 subscribers and posts multiple videos every week. You can find him on YouTube and Twitter.

Machinima Monday: Rise of the Spartans

It’s Machinima Monday time, so that of course means Machinima……on a Monday. This weeks entry is a lengthy series named ‘Rise Of The Spartans.’

‘Rise of the Spartans’ was created by the Black Plasma Studios. However, according to the about section of the Rise Of The Spartans YouTube Channel, “Due to copyright and other issues, the series had to be moved off of Black Plasma Studios and will remain here for it to be remembered and enjoyed.”

‘Rise of the Spartans’ has a large range of content, including soundtrack pieces, PSAs, Directors Cuts and more. All of these pieces of content can be easily found in the playlist section of the ‘Rise of the Spartans’ YouTube Channel.

The description for the first episode of ‘Rise of the Spartans’ is as follows:

Act 1 of the Rise of the Spartans epic, released as a Director’s Cut with improved quality and extended scenes.

The team now finds themselves split up and scattered across a mysterious halo, and each are presented with unique challenges as tensions rise and war approaches.

As mentioned above, the ‘Rise of the Spartans’ Director’s Cut is where to find the best quality and extended scenes. Given that each act is pretty lengthy, it’s recommended to take your time to enjoy this series.

There are a total of 7 parts for this Machinima if you count the Prologue, so there’s certainly a lot of time and effort put into the series when you account for the length of each episode. The additional content on the ‘Rise of the Spartans’ YouTube channel is also worth checking out.

Streamer Showcase: UberNick

Well, it’s been about a month since we did our last streamer showcase, not on purpose, but in light of the global situation going on, things haven’t been quite routine as we’d like. Either way, were here with another streamer and hopefully it’s one that most people are already familiar with. If not, you’re in for a treat!

UberNick is probably one of the more well-known Halo streamers these days as being one of the first HCS Grassroots streamers to join the program. His main play-style is competitive with a splash of fun mixed in with viewers and other Halo streamers. While he was one of the first Grassroots partners back in November 2018, he became Twitch partnered just over a year ago in February 2019 and has risen up to some of the top watched Halo streamers on the platform. He’s very interactive with his audience and overall is an upbeat fella rocking tunes while he plays. In a given month, he’ll range from 400 to 800 subscribers with gifted subs regularly being handed out by his viewers.

UberNick streams daily except for Mondays and kicks off in the afternoons/evenings (US/UK time). You can subscribe to him on Twitch and follow him on Twitter and YouTube.
