Streamer Showcase: TeamRespawnTV

It’s Sunday, the day after Saturday, but it’s still a day that begins with a ‘s’, so we’ll just stick to the weekends since we’ve tried to be more diligent with releasing episodes on Saturdays. Enough of the riffraff, time for the latest streamer showcase.

Team Respawn is a Halo community dedicated to the Halo Wars titles previously co-hosting and co-organizaing the Halo Wars Champions League. Nowadays, they produce Halo Wars 2 content with live streams and uploads featuring game play, lore and analysis and strategy. While they have a small following, they have been affiliated for about two years on Twitch and remain one of the last consistent Halo Wars content creators within the greater Halo community.

The Team Respawn team streams on Twitch currently without a set schedule but at least once a week. You can subscribe to Team Respawn TV on Twitch and follow them on Twitter and YouTube.

Podtacular 724: Autumn Breaks in Shadows

Welcome back to another week of Halo news and yet another interview. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Community Spotlight and even longer for the last Canon Fodder, but both bring another wonderful curation of creative genius our community has and the announcement of a new Halo novel, Shadows of Reach. We also have Iowa and Nate from the Project Autumn team on the show to introduce us to their fan games and tell us more about what they’re working on. Wrapping up the show is another community poll, this time UNSC vehicles.

Machinima Monday: The Forgotten Spartans

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I79xt39ovJw

It’s Monday, which means another Machinima to feature here on the blog. We like to dig into the vault every now and then to showcase some old and classic Halo film-making. This is the full-length film of Thake Films’ The Forgotten Spartans series released over six years coming to it’s conclusion in 2013.

Playing off the end of Halo 3, this Machinima ties in possible continuing stories in the series with some surprise appearances from in-game characters. From the first episode, the synopsis reads:

Six months ago, Spartan Squad Omega were left on a newly discovered Halo Ring. They are searching for a hornet that was left behind, whilst trying to uncover the mystery of their abandonment.

Fair warning, this is two and a half hours long and contains strong language. If you’d like to watch the series in episodic form, you can find the playlist here.

Podtacular 723: Giving Old Friends Warm Welcomes

A surprise release means an impromptu surprise episode. We weren’t planning on doing a podcast this week, but with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary landing on PC, we’d figure we’d kill two moas with one hammer swing and talk about the release: improvements and outstanding issues looking to be resolved and introduce another one of our most recent additions to the Podtacular staff: AceofSpadesCard. We’ll return next week with the live show, our next poll and our special guests.

Machinima Monday: Brotherhood War Trailer

Machinima Monday is upon us once again and this week we have the pleasure of showing off the Brotherhood War Trailer. Created by Chronicler177, this Halo 5 Machinima follows on from the Final Farewell episode.

The description for the trailer reads:

After years of absence, Spartan Zach-B257 and his allies return to Earth to find the UNSC on the brink of a civil war against the Radical Reformation.

The Brotherhood War Primer, along with Brotherhood War Production Stills can be found on the same YouTube Channel as the above trailer, so we’d recommend checking them out too.

Streamer Showcase: Savage Giggles

It’s Saturday, which means another streamer showcase, and although we missed the past couple of weekends, we’re still intended on getting a spotlight done as many Saturdays as we can, which leads us to our next streamer.

Savage Giggles has been around the Halo community for some time and as you can see in the header, you may know her donning the Kat armor from Halo: Reach. And bonus points, she was Spartan Hazel-A302 at Halo: Outpost Discovery last year and her likeness is Halo canon for the character. She’s been partnered on Twitch for a little over a year and primarily plays Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Her stream presentation is simplistic and clean, but she has a light-hearted expression and is very welcoming to new viewers despite her competitive edge. In addition to having a welcoming personality, she’s a great personal friend of mine.

Savage Giggles streams on Twitch every Wednesday and Friday evenings occasionally spotting additional streams throughout the week. You can subscribe to Lady Echidna on Twitch and follow her on Twitter and Instagram.

Podtacular 722: Dual Weaponizing

Welcome back to another “regular” episode as we don’t have any outside guests on the show, but we do have our most recent addition to the Podtacular staff, Writing Spartan on as a guest and discuss what his role is within the community. In addition to our normal updates on playlists and community musings, we discuss dual wielding: it’s implementation and whether it should make a return to Halo; and our “not-so-complete” weapon poll we posted last week. Catch the next poll, which will be Halo vehicles.
