With the studio’s focus back on Halo: The Master Chief Collection, it’s no surprise that the community is getting in on the hype. Our friends over at ForgeHub have partnered with 343 to host another Forge contest, this time in Halo 2 Anniversary. The rules are pretty simple and there’s a chance submitted maps will be featured in a MCC matchmaking playlist. In other news, a new arcade experience has been announced called Halo: Fireteam Raven and details for the HCS 2018 season have also been revealed, and of course the latest #HaloChallenge craze gives you a chance at winning an Xbox One X!

We seem to be on the radar of GrimBrother One because for the last three updates, he’s posted them while we’re recording. For one, thanks Grim for making us scramble through the updates every week but also making the news relevant at the time of recording. We’re hitting another short news week but never to fear as the community has another quandary to ponder as Halo: Silent Storm is revealed leaving the community to wonder, what happened to John’s Helmet? It shouldn’t play much of a role in the games as this book takes place in the early stages of the Human Covenant war when John was a Petty Officer. We go over the Operation: TREBUCHET interview from last week’s update with the team behind the ArmA 3 mod. TrueSkill 2 is now out across Halo 5 and we have a new rotational playlist available too.
It’s awesome to see the community be such a creative bunch and be able to band together behind an ambitious project such as ElDewrito. As quickly as it rose to popularity, Microsoft stepped in to protect the code by which the mod uses. The good news to this story is that the ElDewrito team isn’t facing legal actions and were just asked to remove any game code and halt any further development on the mod. While this may not be the outcome the community wanted for this mod, it has shed some light on the community’s strong desire to have an updated Halo experience on PC. That and more in this week’s episode including a feature on Operation: TREBUCHET, and ArmA 3 mod (which, similar to SoTP is permitted).
Following up on our previous podcast from Seattle, we are joined once again by Tazzman and JKFire who we co-casted from HaloWC 2018. This time, we welcome the other co-host from HCS Pro Talk, IamMrMayhem as we cover championship Sunday’s outcome and discuss the showdown to crown the new Halo 5 champions. We are also graced with another MCC update and there’s some pretty exciting stuff that in the works!
We’re in Seattle this weekend for the 2018 Halo World Championship and with the return of MLG to the Halo Championship Series, it has been quite the spectacle here at CenturyLink Field Event Center. Another short news week, but we’re back to talk about the few nuggets from the last week. With community guest Bobby B444, we talk about some of the things in Halo 5 we could see making the transition to Halo 6 and some things that don’t.
