This week in Halo, we find ourselves still without the latest Halo Wars 2 leader, Colony, but for a very good reason that would otherwise break even the Lekgolo themselves. More news on the summer season of the Halo Championship Series, Halo: Envoy is released, and someone found out a way to get Warzone to load in Forge or Custom Games (we really don’t know since there’s some ONI wizardry going on to get it working)!

News for Halo Wars this week is good as Halo Wars: Definitive Edition becomes a standalone title for Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam, and the next leader for Halo Wars 2, Colony, is announced and slated for release. Colony brings the prowess of the Lekgolo to a whole new level with new Hunter-like tanking units and defensive capabilities. More summer 2017 HCS details are announced regarding weapon changes and map layouts along with the full schedule. We even had enough time to squeeze in some discussions and details for changes coming to the podcast and our community in the coming months.

On April 20th, Halo Wars: Definitive Edition will become a standalone title aside from requiring to be bundled with Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition. HW:DE has been available since December 2016 for those who pre-ordered the ultimate edition on Windows 10 and Xbox One, but the standalone version will include Steam availability also supporting Windows 7. Players who purchase the Steam version will not be able to play with Windows 10 version owners of the game. Price is still unknown at this time, but we assume it will be between $20-30.
We find ourselves yet again in another week gone by with not much franchise news, but there’s plenty happening in the community, changes to the eSports arena and, perhaps the biggest news this week is the reveal of Xbox Scorpio’s specs and analysis by Digital Foundry. Halo: Envoy hits store shelves and digital platforms in less than two weeks, weapons are being changed in the HCS summer season, this month’s Legendary Crate is available until the end of this week, and we have some amazing community creations featured in a variety of places.

A recent vidoc published reveals a brand new leader for Halo Wars 2, along with plenty of new units and powers. Teased during Morgan Kinsano’s panel at PAX East, the new leader is a Hunter colony, known as just that, Colony. Colony will come with a plethora of new units, including a massive Hunter unit known as a Goliath, and a super-unit that can draw enemy fire and soak damage known as a Captain. New powers including a living barrier, which is as the name says, a set of barriers made up of Hunter worms, as well as a vehicle buff which embeds them with Hunter worms. The Colony leader will be releasing this month, and is available through the Season Pass if you own the deluxe edition, but can be bought normally.

Twelve teams from around the world met in Burbank, California last weekend for the Halo World Championship 2017. Among the energetic competition was Halo Gear giveaways, team merchandise and the 405th, but the question on everyone’s mind is who would take home the championship title.
