In conjunction with Drunken Halo, Podcast Evolved and the Delta Halo podcast, we’re pleased to announce our participation in the upcoming Halo Bowl.  In this special cross-show podcast we discuss the details of the upcoming charity tournament between our four shows taking place June 8th at 6:30PM EDT.  Learn more about each of the shows and the layout of the tournament.  The charity we’re playing for is Gamers Outreach in an attempt to raise $4000 to fund a GO-Cart.

Podtacular 540: Campaign Completed

Since our last episode we’ve received a little more information about Forge for Windows 10 and get some news about a change in the upcoming schedule of content releasing for Halo 5.  While 343 is putting on the polishing touches for the next batch of content that is scheduled to come, we will receive the Hog Wild content update REQs ahead of schedule.  With a lull in the news, we are able to wrap up our campaign walk-through for Halo 5: Guardians leaving us open to discuss more in-depth topics brought up in the campaign for future shows.

Hog Wild REQ Drop Now Available

While 343 Industries is working on putting the finishing touches on the Hog Wild content slated for the next update, they have decided to go ahead and release the REQs from the update.  Along with the three new Warthogs, we’re receiving the hybrid loadout scope, Aurum weapon skins, two new armor sets, one new visor and five new emblems.  The remaining content that was slated for this update including new maps, game modes, Forge items and bug fixes will come out later this month.  You can check out all the new REQs available below.

Halo Legendary Loot Crate Announced

Loot Crate is well known for their monthly subscription box of geek and gamer gear and loot.  Today, Xbox announced a partnership between 343 Industries and Loot Crate to bring Halo fans the Halo Legendary Crate.  This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Halo items in Loot Crates, with items in December 2015’s Galaxy Crate and the first Loot Gaming crate.

The Halo Legendary Crate will include exclusive figures, apparel, collectibles, in-game items, and more from the franchise in a bi-monthly crate.  While there is no date on when this crate will first be available, we will get a first glimpse at the first crate in late August. Each crate will contain $65 worth of loot for $34.99 plus $5 shipping.  Halo fans can sign up to receive email notifications when more details and the crates themselves become available by visiting LootCrate.com/Halo.

Podtacular 539: Forging Evolved

It’s a Forger’s dream come true as Halo 5’s Forge is coming to Windows 10!  With the last officially supported version of Halo being Halo 2 Vista, it’s nice to see Halo come back to the PC, even if it is for Forging and testing purposes only.  In this show, we also tackle one more campaign mission in our journey to complete our Halo 5 journey.

Forging Evolved – Halo 5 Forge Coming to Windows 10

Since Forge was created for Halo 3, creators have been able to create their own custom maps for the franchise. While the tools for Forge have evolved over the lifespan of its existence, Halo 5 brought arguably some of the most drastic changes to the platform.  Today, 343 Industries takes it one step further announcing Forge – Halo 5: Guardians Edition coming to Windows 10.  This free tool harnesses the same power and features of Forge as it exists in Halo 5 today with some added features targeted specifically to PC:

  • Keyboard & Mouse Support – For the first time ever, Forgers will have the option of using a keyboard & mouse allowing for more precision control than ever before.
  • Increased Resolution – Support for multiple resolutions including 4k.
  • Test and Play with Friends – Enlist the help of Friends to help build, test, and play your Forge creations on Windows 10.
  • Build on Windows 10 and Publish to Xbox One – Experiences built on Windows 10 can be published to and played on Xbox One, opening the doors for countless new experiences to be enjoyed by players all over the world.

There will be more information about Forge for Windows 10 later this year, but in the meantime more updates are slated to be added to Halo 5: Guardians including new environments, advanced file sharing capabilities, new pieces, palettes, props, and much more. You can read more about the announcement over on Halo Waypoint.

Podtacular 538: Farewell Biowolf

For almost two years, Biowolf has been co-host of our podcast and today we say farewell as he steps down from his official role on the show.  It’s been a wonderful ride having him riding shotgun, but we wish him the best and expect to see him back from time to time.  While we look for a new co-host to fill the vacancy alongside Dust Storm and Godzilla T, we have the latest content update released with a load of new content.  The Memories of Reach update fills out the rest of the armor sets to represent Noble Team, loadout weapon skins for well known teams from the Halo franchise, Infection, Status Arena map, Forge additions, Requisitions and more.
