Podtacular 537: Remembering Reach

The next content update brings back memories from Halo: Reach including armor sets to finish out the members of Noble Team.  In addition to the armor sets, new weapon skins for many of the fireteams encountered in the Halo Universe will be added among many other REQs coming with the update.  If you’re rocking the Kat armor, don’t be offended if no one hops in your Warthog.  Continuing our campaign coverage in an effort to get to those lore episodes we know you’re longing for, we visit Genesis as Fireteam Osiris continue their search for Blue Team and Cortana.

Podtacular 536: File Browser is Back

343 continues to give out cool new features and responding to community feedback and we are happy to finally see a working File Browser available now on Halo Waypoint.  It is now easier than ever to manage your bookmarked variants and view your game clips and screenshots.  In addition, Super Fiesta has been a blast and with Warzone Turbo back, there’s plenty of opportunity to play with some of your favorite REQ weapons.  Back on the campaign coverage, we discuss Battle of Sunaion as we attempt to wrap up the game so we can jump into some heavy lore discussions.

Podtacular 534: Halo World Championship 2016 Recap

The Halo World Championship has crowned a victor and Counter Logic Gaming has earned the title of world champions taking home $1,000,000.  This is the largest prize pool in competitive Halo and console eSports history, with 60% of the pool being crowd funded.  In addition to champions being crowned, this is the first major tournament we’ve seen a team from overseas beat out an American team in pool play with Epsilon eSports from the UK.  For this recap, we are joined by the one and only Nak3d Eli discussing the outcome of the tournament, and the way the event and season were run.  We also had the privilege of interviewing Epsilon eSports, Team Immunity and Team Elevate during the weekend getting their views on the tournament as events unfolded.  We also had a chat with Walshy and Goldenboy after day 2 and the semi-finals with their predictions and views of how the teams had performed up to that point.  We would like to congratulate CLG for their success at the Halo World Championship and hope to see all the teams that participated back in the competitive scene again.

Podtacular 533: Grifcon 2016

Our friends over at GrifballHub are at it again with another Kickstarter to fund a Grifball booth at the Rooster Teeth Expo in Austin, Texas this July.  For the past three years, the Halo community has banded together to make the booth possible with reward items including Grifball t-shirts, stickers, bags, wristbands, buttons, Cards Against Grif, and much more.  This year, GrifballHub is attempting to reach their most ambitious stretch goal yet: a fully featured Grifball stage with constant Grifball action during the expo.

Podtacular 532: Halo Space Battles

If you’re looking for epic space battles in the Halo universe, look no further than the Sins of the Prophets mod. These folks have done a complete conversion of Sins of a Solar Empire creating custom space vessels, music, effects, UI and the likes to bring Halo to an even grander scale.  We had the opportunity to chat with Unikraken, Cole and Lavo from the project to discuss what Sins of a Solar Empire is and how much work has been put into the mod for a full Halo conversion.
