This one’s been out for a while, but here are the top results. A lot of you didn’t want to make the climb I guess. Here’s this week’s screenshot to caption. Reply/Comment with your best caption.

The Community Cartographers are an integral part of the Halo community and with the recent introduction of Forge to Halo 5: Guardians, they are in full swing providing feedback to 343 Industries, creating new maps, promoting community content and teaching us non-Forgers how to do cool things. We are honored to have Ducain23 (Forge Channel), NOKYARD (GrifballHub/HaloGAF), The Psycho Duck (Halo Customs/ForgeHub), WARH0LIC (ForgeHub), and The Fated Fire on this week’s show discussing their impressions on Halo 5’s Forge since their visit to 343 Industries. The new features are a gift to many forgers and has received a lot of praise, but there are still some things missing they would like to see get added.

Time to grab your jacket, snowboard and head to the mountains because the Halo World Championship is coming to the X Games. ESPN announced today it has partnered with Xbox to bring the tournament to Aspen, Colorado for the last weekend in January featuring eight of the best teams from around the world: six from North America and two international. The event will be group play, single elimination similar to the online qualifiers and promises to reward the top performing teams with medals and $30,000 in prize pool money. It will not contribute any points or change placements for regional finals. The Halo World Championship Tour: X Games Aspen Invitational may be viewed on WatchESPN, Twitch.tv/Halo and MLG.TV/Halo during the event.
This doesn’t exactly fit the bill for machinima, but I’ve seen this video on the Halo live streams for the Halo World Championship and was simply amazed. Since there’s no theater mode for campaign currently, the only way to get some cinematic shots is to use the Blind skull, and this video shows off some excellent first-person camera shots.

As part of the #HUNTtheTRUTH campaign leading up to the launch of Halo 5: Guardians, 343 Industries partnered with two NASCAR cars to promote the game. #HUNTthe88 and #HUNTthe1. Car 88 with the Master Chief paint job was driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and car 1 with the Spartan Locke paint job was driven by Jamie McMurray. Our own Godzilla T, being a NASCAR fan himself was invited to the Hollywood Casino 400 race and managed to get some pictures from the Kansas speedway. Unfortunately, neither placed near the top with No. 1 finishing 20th and No. 88 finishing 21st.
2016 brings in a new year of Halo 5 content and community goodness. While we wait to hear more from 343 at their new studio, not much has happened in the news front. Lots of Forgers have taken to Halo 5 and we’ve seen some spectacular results from tutorial videos with scripting, awesome new maps and other things that will completely blow your mind. Not explicitly Halo, but relevant to the competitive scene, MLG was purchased by Activision/Blizzard likely securing the fate of Halo eSports on that platform. Evacuation is this episode’s campaign focus and we’ll visit another multiplayer map on our next episode. Happy New Year everyone!
