Thanks to REQ Pack purchases in Halo 5: Guardians, the prize pool for the Halo World Championship, the first official Halo Championship Series event for Halo 5, has increased to $1.5 million. The prize pool is expected to grow as more REQ Pack sales come in. HWC launches qualifier events next month with the finals scheduled for March 2016 with eight teams competing from around the world. The wait is over and Halo 5: Guardians is here for all! Whether you’ve dived in to experience the latest in Master Chief’s saga or put your skills to the test in the Arena, the overall reaction has been very positive compared to past 343 titles. We’ve got our hands on it and our first impressions as we start to dive into the game.

When our journey to #HUNTtheTRUTH began, we were introduced to war journalist Benjamin Griaud on assignment to do a profile on Master Chief Petty Officer John, Spartan 117. As he began interviewing his sources, he quickly found out one of ONI’s best kept secrets regarding John and the Spartan II program and the anomalies happening in the outer colonies. His actions and discoveries eventually lead him to get taken away to Midnight facility with help from the one who lead him down the rabbit hole of lies, FERO.
Unbeknownst to Ben and listeners, FERO was in fact ONI agent Maya Sankar assigned to help bring economic revival to the outer colonies discouraging violence against the UEG. When the events started happening, she couldn’t help but fall into her role as FERO and eventually go rogue. Over the course of season two, we see Maya make sacrifices for what she eventually believed what was the right thing to do, all the way up to this series finale. With the event on Lika III starting to take full effect, the last thing Maya can think to do is broadcast out the events in real-time, hoping anyone in the outer colonies would hear the truth and be able to make preparations, but her decisions have a heavy cost.
It has been our pleasure to work with Toa Freak from Halo Canon on these episodes since season one. We are also humbled by the guest appearance of Noah Eichen, Ian Torney, and Andrew Volpe, the creative minds behind Hunt the Truth. It’s hard to see such a wonderful series such as this come to a close, but it has been one epic journey and we are very grateful for their work along with the work from the voice actors and partners who made this series a reality. As of when we recorded this (over a week ago), Halo 5: Guardians is just around the corner and the hype couldn’t be much higher. In preparation for the week to come, we gather up the last bit of news, discuss the new ranking system and empty out our submissions. In celebration of the release of Halo 5: Guardians, the folks over at the 405th Infantry Division in association with Stony Props is giving away nine replica Halo helmets over nine days. Winners will randomly receive one of nine unfinished Helmet kits from some of the best artists in the community. The giveaway started yesterday afternoon and ends on November 6, 2015 at 11:59pm eastern. All you have to do to enter is ‘Like’ the 405th Infantry Division Facebook page, Stony Props Facebook page, any of the corresponding 405th division pages and fill out the giveaway form here.
The pro team at 343 Industries gives us some useful tactics that will be important as you pick up your weapons in Halo 5: Guardians later this week. There are many new features that will be important to be aware of and know how to best use to your advantage. Based on a lot of feedback from the beta, multiplayer has been tweaked to provide the most engaging experience including AR/Magnum starts, 18 meter radar, use of Spartan Abilities while running the flag and much more.
