Halo: Reach
Ketchup
Hello Podtacular! I just wanted to let you know that there is a new medal for Halo: Reach called ”Hell’s Jerome” that is awarded for killing 15 zombies without dying.
I, for one, think this is utter Heracy! Jerome could kill way more than 15. Try 15,000.
Mr.Pickles
P.S. Will you have Brent read it?
Hey podtacular, im writing this on 9/11/10 and I wanted to know if any of you are excited about the falcon in Halo: Reach? For some reason, I am uber excited about it and can't wait for someone to jump into the rotors. Writing this three days away from Reach, I don't have much longer to wait. I love the show and will try to become a regular submitter. Keep on fragging noobs on the Elephant - Mr. Pickles
P.S. Brent rocks!!

Okay, just to get right to the point, I think you guys are awesome and I am jealous of all the stuff you guys have that I can’t because of my limited budget and the fact that my mom hates Halo for and my dad and step-mom are biased against it for whatever reason; though I am just as commited to Halo as I am to Star Wars. I have been subscribed to you for maybe a year now and with the arrival of the school year I am only now beginning to wade into the plethora of episodes that I have accumulated.
By the way, is the theme that you guys play at the beginning and end of your podcasts available on iTunes?
Hope to see you all on the battlefield on Reach, and long live Halo.

Reach came today and it is unbelivable. Online is a much better experience. It somehow feels more organized and there are not so many cheap kills. Forge controls are hard to get the hang of and at first I was raging. I was also looking through the medals and the one for 15 zombie kills is called ”hells Jerome”. Does this refer to Jerome the security guard!
DaftLink I17
Hey Podtac, DaftLink I17 here to give you my Reach impressions. So yesterday(9/14) I was gonna do Campaign but couldn't resist and jumped straight into Matchmaking. I felt right at home and can confidently say that Bungie fixed things like grenades since the Beta. Also, the vehicles feel much smoother and easier to drive. After that, I did some Firefight and got Rocketfight(only Rockets). It was a lot fun to fight Elites in FF and I got a couple achievements like Lucky Me(Triple Kill with jetpack). I'll probably start Campaign on solo Legendary later today.
Keep on fraggin' the Covies and the Horde; thanks guys, love the show.
Carts
[1]I love the single player gameplay in Reach. The story is not as good as the other Halo's but gameplay wise, I truly believe Reach triumphs. I love the intesity of have Elites with swords rushing me, meanwhile I am targeted by a suicide grunt and another weilding a Fuel-rod. Also, Hunters actually show some threat in this game. I never feared Hunters in Halo until this game. The Jackels are have stronger sheild, and are much more stable (wont be staggerd by bullets as much) then other Halo's.
However, I hate the friendly AI whenever a vehicle is involved, They are the worst drivers ever, (just as bad as the people that cross 4 lanes at once with no signal). They also take forever to simply enter the passenger seat.
I also enjoy the strategy guide this time around, much more in-depth (over 400 pages). It was nice paying 11$ for it when its regular is 23$ (thought the cashier said I would pay 30% off, I Guess she's not a friend of numbers)
[2]I just found a glitch in the game. If you jump on a hunters head, he wont attack and other hunters wont neither. This make it incredibly easy to kill them.
I also love playing firefight with Waves of Hunters (without using the above exploit).
stallmeplease
Hey everyone! Its the watch stealer stallmeplease! I am sorry that it's been so long! I recently got out of jail for stealing Alex Rodreguez’s leather watch, so I thought it would be a great time to submit my first impressions of Reach. I have only completed about 21% of the campagin, but so far I feel it rivals Halo 1’s single player. I have spent some time working on a map (which I will save for a customs and creations show), in forge world. Forge World is blast tastic! I, however, have spent 10 min in firefight. It is not that I don’t like it, its just I have already played firefight in ODST, and I have so many other things to experience before I jump into firefight. But, I have spend zillions of minutes in Matchmaking, and I love it so so so much. It is the best Halo MP to date, everything is just as balanced as always, and I am looking forward to hopping into firefight with fellow Podtacians. I love the 1000000 and 2000000 credit armour abilities. It will give us the opportunity to work towards something for possibly years. Let's see, the visuals are gorgeous, Marty is God, and Elites are fun-monkeys.
In my executive opinion, Reach is one of my top games this year, and THE BEST HALO GAME ON THE MARKET TODAY. Thats all I got.
Keep on fraggin Dusty for his inabilty to direct traffic, and keep on fraggin GLewis for some how still being considered a co-host. Can I also be considered a Co-Host? Considering I've been on just as many shows in the past year?
I love you guys, peace.

I got Halo Reach yesterday (Launch day), and thanks to junior year. I have only been able to play about an hour and a half. But that hour and a half was a great hour and a half.
I started off with campaign on Heroic, enjoying the Beaver Zone/ Overlook scenery of the "second" mission. I made it through with only two deaths, one at the hands of 5 or so elites, and one at the plasma filled paws of a suicidal grunt. I don't think those are actually paws, but I said that for the added appeal of alliteration. Today, I played what I believe to be half of ONI: Sword Base, and got about halfway through before I had to go.
I played some campaign, getting a match of Slayer DMRs on Boardwalk in. Despite losing, I really enjoyed sniping jetpackers out of the air with the more powerful feeling sniper. Might be the weaker Spartans though, I dunno.
Finally, I've ogled Forge World a bit. I've spent about 8 minutes on it, but it was long enough for me to cry rainbows at the beauty and scale of it.
A warning to all non-Dustys! Do NOT look anyone up on Halopedia! I tried to find out what Emile's accent sounds like, and right below his bio section, there were suddenly spoilers! I only got one, but they're unmarked and EVERYWHERE. So look out.
Keep on fragging people that call in Pterodactyl support when they get Halo kill streaks and you're like "That's not even in Halo!" and then you get hit by the pterodactyl's laser vision and die.
Signin' out.
giffyboy92
Hey Podtac, Its giffy. I haven’t sent stuff in, in a long while, but with the launch of reach and all the new stuff to talk about I figured I would put in my two cents. I was playin' through the campaign like everybody opening night and when I got to the mission with Jun I was exploring the environment looking for easter eggs ’n’ what not and I stumbled across a data pad laying in the grass off the beaten path. I was just wondering if this was like the terminal thing from Halo 3. It seemed like it may not be the only data pad in the game. I was just wondering if anybody knows anything about this. Well thats pretty much it for my submission. Keep up the good work guys and I can’t wait to see all the awesome custom games that come out of Forge World. Keep on fraggin' them trucks. This is giffyboy92 signin' off.
Tbone 110
Hello podtacular, this is tbone 110 and I am here to say some controversial things about the Halo Reach campaign and multiplayer. First things first and probably the thing that will make the most people curse my name, I think that the Halo Reach campaign was better than Halo CE. If you wipe away the nostalgia and just look at it in terms of story and gameplay I had much more fun with Reach. It’s like watching a funny show. The first episode is always remembered and we try to make everything match it. Next up I want to say that I felt like certain spartans didn’t see as much love as others. Kat and Jorge were like your best friends in terms of how much time you spent with them where Carter and Emile were like the people you hang out with when the people you normally hang out with aren’t around. The multiplayer is a little staggering at first. I spent time just looking at the menus saying what do I do? Do I go for some co-op action in firefight, and epic battle in invasion, or a something more classic in the other playlists. I do feel that the remade maps are some of the best in the game but some of Reaches maps shine just as bright. Pinnacle, Asylum, Powerhouse, Zealot, Paradiso, and the Cage all feel like a pool full of awesome. Honestly the only map that doesn’t stand up as tall is Boardwalk just because it has a very boring look to it. In terms of gameplay it is a 8.5/10 though it just happens to make me yawn when I look at it. Firefight feels like a real thing now. I play it as much as a play any of the other gametypes. Also the crazy gametypes are a tone more fun. Personally crash site in score attack is awesome. Well that’s my full novel on Halo Reach, good luck on the rest of the show.

Sorry about not submitting in a while, but I was busy playing Reach. I think that the Campaign, Firefight, Forge are amazing in Halo: Reach. I enjoy messing around in Forge when I’m bored, playing Firefight to get at least 600 credits per game, and playing the campaign to see how Reach fell. To avoid spoilers, I won't say anything about the Campaign to be nice to the people who haven’t finished it yet.
Sorry if the submission was long, but I have a lot of time on my hands during the weekend. So I shall sign off a koft. Keep on fragging co-hosts of a podcast that would never show up to a recording, and no one ever gives an explanation on why they never show up.
ODST EJY
Hey Podtacular! I would just like to say that I really like the new site design! It looks really slick and well done. I will break this down section by section on what I think about Reach.
Also, sorry for the ultra long sub.
CAMPAIGN *SPOILER*
You may have seen a recent post made by me on the forums on how I really do not like the campaign. I’ve revised some of my statements.
I think that the enemy is pretty smart, but not insanely smart as some people are saying. I played through on solo legendary and was able to beat them. The only reason that they were hard to beat is that their shields are up like crazy. It took three plasma pistol EMP shots to take out the shields. That doesn’t make for interesting gameplay, just frustrating gameplay. But hey, it’s legendary. The friendly A.I. is the worst it’s been in any game. The marines are absolutely retarded. Has anybody put a marine on the rocket hog? If you have, you’ve realized how stupid the A.I. is. One guy launched six rockets at one grunt and didn’t kill him. What a load of aged grunt semen. The Spartan A.I. isn’t any better. All the Spartans are just marines that can’t die. These are SUPER soldiers, they need to be a little bit smarter, but at the same time, I realize we can’t have the A.I. doing all of the work. We need to find a nice balance.
Most of the characters don’t have depth, you don’t make a connection with them. Carter was a douche. He was bland and had no real personality. Kat was completely obnoxious and to be honest, I can’t understand a damn word she says over my comms. I mean, this is 2552! Can we have some HD sound in our heads? Jorge died off too quickly for me to really make a connection. Emile was the only person a really made a connection with and was sad when he died. I liked him because of the unspoken respect that your character has for him and vise versa. I feel like Emile and Noble 6 have a sort of friendship in a way because they are both killing machines. Noble 4 has been known to state that he doesn’t really care about who wins the war, just that he gets to kill. He says that, but when he fires the MAC guns he screams the names of his fallen team members and yells about his hate of the covenant. Emile went out fighting and still killed someone, even with a swor d jammed through his stomach. Noble 6 is hyper lethal and most about him is classified due to his violent nature. He kills a lot and he likes it. But he too cares about humanity when he decided to stay and fire the MAC gun to destroy the covie cruiser. He also went out fighting, basically destroying like six elites before he went off and looking badass in the process. And am I the only one who sees that everyone on Noble is a racial stereotype? Jun is a sniper and to be a sniper you need to be super smart; Jun is Asian. Emile is a violent person who loves to kill; Emile is black. Carter is a dull and boring person with no real personality or style. He is also the leader of Noble; Carter is white. Kat has a dominating personality who sometimes forces people to do things they don’t want to do; Kat is Russian! This is insane!
FIREFIGHT
Beachhead is a pretty good map. I choose to use the Recon class on this map and headshot grunts from above. My other strategy is just hop into the rocket hog and pwn some A.I.
Corvette is my favorite level. It’s close quarters and is the level I got the achievement for one million points (I boosted of course).
Courtyard is a close second. It has great places to spawn and is so much fun to use the grenade launcher on.
Glacier is a map I haven’t played, but I imagine it is almost identical to the campaign level.
Holdout I haven’t played either, but I imagine it’s the same as the campaign level.
Outpost is full a meh. There isn’t a lot of color and the lighting makes me want to throw up.
Overlook is my third favorite. I hated it in the beta, but love it now. The way you have the high ground and have to defend it is very fun.
Waterfront is great. You really feel surrounded by the covenant and you really feel vulnerable.
MULTI-PLAYER
I really don’t like Boardwalk. It just feels so plain and just full of meh.
Boneyard is fantastic for Invasion. The way everything is set up is just so amazing. Invasion slayer is fun but not as fantastic.
Countdown is very good. Nothing beats it for SWAT and slayer. It’s just fucking fun.
I really love Powerhouse. It works well for Slayer and Stockpile. It has that High Ground feel, but also feeling fresh.
Reflection is just amazing. Team snipers (which I hate) got voted for on this map. All my team quit out and it was 1v4. I went up 20-10 until all of them quit out. This map is can feel so big and so small. I love Ivory Tower.
Spire is okay. It’s fun on Invasion, but sucks on anything else.
I really like sword base on classic slayer. There is only the sprint armor ability. So no jetpackers makes for some actually really interesting gameplay.
Zealot sucks because if you get up by five points, you can just camp up in space and kill anyone who comes up the vents and just dominate.
FORGE
Forge is great, but is also very confusing. Instead of everything circulating around you, you circulate around the object. It’s hard at first, but it makes for better forging in the end. I’ve started on my own forge map and have half of it set up right now. Forging is so much easier and I just love it.
Hooray for super long sub!

Hello folks of Podtacular, I'd like to say Halo Reach is the best video game I've ever played. All the customizables are amazing and the game has me busy either getting challenges for commendations, getting achievements or play for the hell of it because this game is just too damn awsome. Forge World 2.0 is amazing and I find myself building maps out of the blue and it's just so easy with all of the things added my favorite being the automatic "phased" for objects. The only thing I didn't like was not being able to put down weapon online. Sadly that leads me to believe my machinima can never be done but that's another story. I loved the campaign, when I first got my Legendary Edition (with awsome statue and Recon for pre order) of Halo Reach I drove straight into the campaign on Legendary and found it a challenge. I missed the elites and they are much more powerful then those stupid brutes from Halo 3. It took several hours but I did it got 5 acheivememts and was completely saticfied. If anyone owns an Xbox 360 they must have Halo Reach. It's simple the best and has enough reply value to last for years. It's sad to see Bungie move on but they deffinately left with a bang.
P.S. Emile is a bad-ass.
It probably would've helped if I would have said my Gamertag or username, iSnowKone of podtacular iBloodySnowKone on Xbox Live. Sorry about that.

Hey guys! Halo’s server terrorist here! I just wanted to talk about everything. Forge- Hard to get used to at first because of the way it moves and uses the controller more to its fullest. Campaign- LOVE IT! I think that it was really good compared to Halo 3 and past Halos. Firefight- Love it a lot more then the old Firefight. The old firefight i hated a lot, I never even got recon for Halo 3 because of the stupidity involved in it. FileShare- I cant figure out how to put my stuff on it so i don’t like that it seems hard and like it needs to be refined more. Over all i love Reach and i recommend it to anyone who (for some reason) haven’t bought it yet. Hoping to see Double Xp weekends maybe, and i hope to see customs in Reach with zombies… but so far i haven’t seen anyone playing customs. Sorry for the long sub. Keep on fraggin dem trucks. Server Terrorist out!

Hello gentlemen, I will try to make this as easy as possible for your weary eyes to read, as I am sure that you have read a lot of submissions that have had grammatical errors in the hundreds written on them.
Hahahaha, I just thought that I’d amuse you guys. You all definitely deserve a little laugh. Moving on to Reach now: I really love everything about Reach; the campaign, the multiplayer, and Forge 2.freaking0. The ONLY complaint that I have with Reach is Forge 2.0’s random ability to either fling you into a wall and have you be killed by the guardians, or delete an object and be flung across the map. Otherwise, this game is just truly superb. Hugs and high-five Bungie?
All right, that’s it for now, thanks for having the time to read my submission and I hope you all have a great day.
Keep on fragging trucks, fellas. Stay frosty.
Lonewolf2552
Hey Guys! Lonewolf here again. I wanted to know what you guys thought of the Halo Reach Campaign, plus the new weapons, vehicles, etc.
Also, who’s your favorite spartan from Noble Team? For me I like Carter. Anyway, shoutouts to the Podtac community, Dusty, Brent, and Glewis. Lonewolf signing out.
