ODST EJY
Hey my Podtacularian brothers!!! How are all of you on this fine day? Hopefully the GNubbis will be back and grace us with his soothing voice.
Kind of a random question, but what is your current rank in Halo: Reach? I’m a captain, but I guarantee I’ll be at least a captain grade 2 by the time you read this.
Alrighty, the campaign was pretty good and I submitted a pretty good review about it in the last episode, not knowing about the no spoils policy on that episode. I hope you don’t mind if I just copy paste it, because you didn’t read it due to the policy.
You may have seen a recent post made by me on the forums on how I really do not like the campaign. I’ve revised some of my statements due to further play throughs. I think that the enemy is pretty smart, but not insanely smart as some people are saying. I played through on solo legendary and was able to beat them. The only reason that they were hard to beat is that their shields are up like crazy. It took three plasma pistol EMP shots to take out the shields. That doesn’t make for interesting gameplay, just frustrating gameplay. But hey, it’s legendary.
The friendly A.I. is the worst it’s been in any game. The marines are absolutely retarded. Has anybody put a marine on the rocket hog? If you have, you’ve realized how stupid the A.I. is. One guy launched six rockets at one grunt and didn’t kill him. What a load of aged grunt semen. There was even a time on the Beachhead mission where a random marine got on a mongoose with no gunner and would randomly come out and run over me. At first I though, ”Okay, just a simple mistake. Then he came again five minutes later and killed me. Come on. I also think that all the A.I. is secretly out to kill me. When I walk into a room, an elite is just chilling next to a marine. They’re not attacking each other, just standing there. Then, as soon as I walk in, the elite goes crazy and the marine just looks the other way and goes, ”whatev, bra.” The Spartan A.I. isn’t any better. All the Spartans are just marines that can’t die. These are SUPER soldiers, the y need to be a little bit smarter, but at the same time, I realize we can’t have the A.I. doing all of the work. We need to find a nice balance.
Most of the characters don’t have depth, you don’t make a connection with them. Carter was a douche. He was bland and had no real personality. Kat was completely obnoxious and to be honest, I can’t understand a damn word she says over my comms. I mean, this is 2552! Can we have some HD sound in our heads? Jorge died off too quickly for me to really make a connection. Emile was the only person a really made a connection with and was sad when he died.
I liked him because of the unspoken respect that your character has for him and vise versa. I feel like Emile and Noble 6 have a sort of friendship in a way because they are both killing machines. Noble 4 has been known to state that he doesn’t really care about who wins the war, just that he gets to kill. He says that, but when he fires the MAC guns he screams the names of his fallen team members and yells about his hate of the covenant. Emile went out fighting and still killed someone, even with a sword jammed through his stomach. Noble 6 is hyper lethal and most about him is classified due to his violent nature. He kills a lot and he likes it. He too cares about humanity when he decided to stay and fire the MAC gun to destroy the covie cruiser. He also went out fighting, basically destroying six elites before he went off and looking badass in the process.
Am I the only one who sees that everyone on Noble is a racial stereotype? Jun is a sniper and to be a sniper you need to be super smart; Jun is Asian. Emile is a violent person who loves to kill; Emile is black. Carter is a dull and boring person with no real personality or style. He is also the leader of Noble; Carter is white. Kat has a dominating personality who sometimes forces people to do things they don’t want to do; Kat is Russian! This is insane!
Alright, Podtacular. Thanks for having your podcast and hosting a great community. Keep on fragging those noobs who play SWAT and Snipers in the Team Slayer playlist.
DaftLink I17
Hey Podtac, DaftLink here. I finished the Campaign on solo Legendary about a week ago and thought it was superb. Although not as compelling as the story with MC and Cortana, I liked Reach's story and thought it felt more dire than the former. I would say that this Campaign is just about as hard as CE's, maybe a little more. Anyway, it certainly felt very polished and the environments were breathtaking. On a side note, Kat got back, Halsey is a female dog and Buck's cameo was cool though brief.
Keep on fraggin' the Covies and the Horde

Hi Podtac!
Has anybody else noticed that the campaign contains a lot of references to the previous Halo games? For example, on the level ”Long Night of Solace”, the first chapter is ”First Floor: Aliens, Beaches, Secret Launch Facility”, clearly a reference to the Halo: CE level ”The Library”, which contains the chapter ”Fourth Floor: Tools, Guns, Keys to Super Weapon”. Also, the last chapter of ”Long Night of Solace” is ”And the Horse You Rode In On” which is exactly the same as the first chapter of the Halo: CE level, ”The Maw”. Even the achievements are almost all references to the previous Halo games. For example, the achievement for finishing ”Long Night of Solace” is ”You Flew Pretty Good”, a reference to Johnson’s comment in the ending cutscene of the Halo 2 level, ”Cairo Station”. Also, the achievement for killing the Zealot on ”Tip of the Beer" is ”Your Heresy will Stay Your Feet”, an exact quote from the Prophet of Truth during the Arbiter’s punishment. There are a lot more examples that I don’t have room to get to here. Sorry for the long submission. Keep fragging noobs who don’t spell check or grammar check their submissions and force Brent to edit them.

P.S. Do I get some kind of medal for spell checking my submission? ”Spelling Spree” would be nice.
Noobsmasher48
Whats going down Podtac, Its the one, the only, smasher of Noobs!!!
For my campaign submission I would just like to know something: Does Jun (The Sniper of Noble team) even die in the campaign? I only remember Carter ramming into somthing, Kat gets shot in the head (stupid death if you ask me) Emile Gets stabbed with an energy sword, we all know how Six died, and Jorge blows up, so how did Jun die?
Keep on fraggin trucks!!!
Sir Pwnage
Yo, this is my first post, for starters Dusty sucks for declining my Xbox friend invite…. I’m just joking
I'll start by saying that I think that the reason that Bungie made the Spartan IIIs in this game less likable is because when they go MIA, fans woulda’ been like ”this sucks!"
Secondly: I think that Emile, Jorge (maybe), and Carter would've survived. I’ll start with Jorge, O.K, we all know that the Covanant have precise slipstream jumping, how do we know that Jorge wasn’t sent to a human colony world, from there he could have made it back to Earth. Next Emile, Really come on!!! John 117 was stabbed, how do we know Emile was not just acting dead so that he would not be a burden to Six… Lastly Carter, so all of a sudden humans lost ejection seats!!!
On the bright side Reach was awesome, although the Winter Contingency would've been a lot better. Really Jun is all like "Ah my gosh something's on my thermal", and you’re all hyped up and then there are just four grunts in a field, it’s not even shocking… Oh well! This is Sir Pwnage signing off…
Keep on fraggin’ noobs who think that the Spartan Laser sucks cause they pull RT and it doesn’t fire…
Almighty Bob
I played reach at a friends place…
It was (I’m not even kidding) one long orgasm in video game form.
It made me happy in every way possible.
The graphics, gameplay, Halo 1 pistol (almost) all combined to make a ridiculously good game.
If Bungie were a person, I would hug them and kiss them.
(if they were female)
(but I’d do that to any female)
I’ll go on now.
And I found the sniper to be beautiful as well…
It made headshots easier to achieve.
Thankyou Bungie.
And Brent:
I love you with all of my heart.
(and most of my spleen)
Please keep up the delicious show.
