Interviews – and now, reporting for podtacular news…
(Interview from GLewis with a pro gamer)
- The hot topic – bungie.net weekly what’s update has been talking about their next game! We all hope it’s Halo 3 and I know we’d all be pissed if it wasn’t. I’m pretty sure it is for a few reasons:
- Gates originally told Time magazine that halo 3 would coincide with the ps3 launch
- Now he basically says probably later
- A recent apparent leak of an internal microsoft document made it to digg.com. This said halo 3 would be out in “year 2” which means sometime after november 2006.
- weekly update talks about learning from past mistakes, improving on previous work, etc in nebulous terms. They also on the most recent one talk about quickly inverting controls, which means FPS (or possibly air combat, yeah right.) And why would they do an FPS if not Halo 3?
- pretty much every game site puts the release at this year. Gamestop ambitiously puts it at Q2 2006.
more about halo 3 next show, where we talk about your wishlists and other games us Halo freaks
play.
Web Resources

A good place to find Halo CE maps: www.halomaps.org which has many created maps and other resources for map makers like hunter tags, pelican tags, etc. Many of these maps are awesome, for fun, or are awesome for actual games. There are many things that halo fans have been craving on these maps that bungie has yet to put in. Also, there are some halo 2 maps. Some with a twist, like the zanzibar map for custom edition has a gravity gun.
Hey heres another great halo 2 related site “h2g.halo2webring.com” It has tones of custom game types. It has a ranking system that ranks game types form 1-5 stars and is very useful.
a good gaming information podcast blog thing i like to listen to is Xenon Gaming… the website for it is www.XenonGaming.net, the host is SpartanWalrus36 (possibly his gamertag). Its not really Halo orriented but an overall news thing, i think its pretty good you should check it out. He also does reviews and such.
foo mo says: one of my favorite podcasts that’s game-related is extra life radio: it’s myextralife.com. They are really funny, even funnier than dreamstation.cc.
There’s an awesome web-based role-playing game that takes place in the halo universe. It’s at http://www.battlefieldhalo.com/. Check it out, it’s a lot of fun!
http://halogen.slipstreamproductions.net/ is a cool Halo mod made for Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour, it looks as if this mod is good enough just to buy the game for.
- IF WE HAVE EXTRA TIME Foo Mo is pretty much a 360 hater. Why? What do you guys think about the 360?
