Of course, the most important thing in slayer is your kills. Right?
Wrong. Its you kill to death ratio, KpD, or KApD, Kills and assist per
death. The higher your KApD is, the better you are at slayer.
So, by staying alive, the most important thing to do is make it harder for
people to kill. A few points to help you with this:
1) Strafe around. In Ovals, not lines. Just because, the explaination is
too long. WAY too long.
2) Use your cover, stay behind it, every-now-and-then poking your head out
to shoot.
3) Dont stray out. ALWAYS be withing the time it takes for 3 BR shots to
hit you (about 3 seconds) away from cover. This way, it is more difficult
to kill you.
4) If the other person gets the first shot, keep shooting while trying to
get to cover.
5) If your KApD is above 1.4, your doing a-okay.
Tips for multiplayer H2 on Xbox Live:
1.Always reload before rushing into an area (although this should be
obvious). It’s not fun to reload your gun when in the middle of a
battle.
2.Use the button combo B+X+R when you have a BR and are near an opponent. The B button will melee, while X will cancel and the R will fire your
weapon. This is quick for killing someone.
3.If in team games, use your microphone and and stick together, using
strategy. In BTB games, I have noticed in my experience that using mics
and making strategies really helps.
And if you are ever up against an opponent with the sword, what I find
that helps, if you don’t have any nades or rockets, is to run backwards
and go side to side while firing at them. It can make the targeting
recticle hard to get on you when you do that, and the side to side may
make the person miss their attack.
The BxR is pretty commonly known how to be done. It can be a little tough
though. The key to executing the BxR is lunge when you’re still a tiny bit
away, not touching the person. If you’re too close, the X cancels the
melee, not speed up the time to where you can shoot.
This tip is simple and proven effective. Firt, if you know that you are
about to die, throw a grenade at a wall and run past it (through the
doorway) that will lower your trailing opponets shields alot. Then finish
the enemy by dashing back into the room right after the explosion happens
and melee the dude twice. this is a last attempt tactic that should only
be used if you are about to die.

In my own opinion the most effective way to play any SWAT game is to slide
your targeter across the screen when killing people in SWAT, primary
because only 1 bullet out of the 3 is required to kill your opponent, this
increases accuracy and allows you to get multiple kills with a single burst
if your enemys are stupid enough to be bunched up. I suggest you try it
and see if it works for you. Also try out using 2 pistols it works well
for some people because you can fire a lot faster, but in my opinion its
only good for a small map SWAT.
Note: If you have high sensitivity be careful not to overdue the swipe it
only fires three rounds not a beam of death.
Hi, this is Madcat327 and I just wanted to send you guys a couple of my
best tips for Halo2. First of all…stickies are your friends. I know
this may be a little obvious but always make sure you have at least one at
all times so that if you get in a close and personal battle or if you get
surprised, you will still have the ability to stick your opponent and
watch him die after your dead. This also keeps the score close. If you
die and take one with you, the other team doesn’t start to get a lead. Secondly, when playing assault or capture the flag, don’t be afraid to
take a non sneaky path. Sometimes people get so used to the same attacks
they don’t expect the “right through the front door” approach. And
thirdly, “share the love”. In other words don’t hoard the power weapons! A good and effective team plays their strong points. If they know that one
guy is better at the sniper then he gets the snipe. And if one guy kicks
ace with the shottie then he should get it. Plus it doesn’t help if every
one runs for the same power weapon and the other team just walks in the
empty base and plants the bomb. Also if you have all of the PW’s and you
suck…you’re now your opponents new best friend. So all in all, always
have stickies, don’t be predictable, and don’t be a power weapon hoarding
noobtard.
in general memorize the spawns!!!!!! this is soo important…for example, on lockout if ur team is at sniper tower the other team will only spawn in bottom of blue, library, and rarely bottom of br tower..if u know where to expect the enemies u can be prepared for an attack. this works for many other maps. also in team snipers, if u spawn on hog side on relic, have one teammate stand behind the teleporter. i found that 90% of the time the other team opens it. this makes for an easy assassination kill.
If you are in a worthog, and you press the ‘A’ button, it will stop all
four wheels, not just the back 2 if you pulled the hand brake. This can
be very useful when trying to pick up the flag or bomb on a neutral CTF or
assault game. Keep on fraggin’ truks,
Go Rec E,
gijake92
For all of you warthog junkies out there!
I noticed this when i was playing campaign. Well we all know that the
warthogs can kinda sorta drift, (and no im not asian) if timed and
hand-braked just right, you can slide the hog doing a 180 degree spin and
going in reverse with reasonable speed, this allows your passenger with
whatever weapon he/probably not she has (preferably the rockets) to come
in the firing range and is now able to lock on and blow that other hog or
ghost away. When i party up with my friends, i am the designated driver, ( i don’t drink)
i have a very useful tip for Halo CE. this tip isnt really ment for single
player but it can help. if you play on multiplayer on Halo PC you probably
know about the agony of lag, and this tip is extreamly useful for when
there is lag. most of you who play Halo PC know how badly it can screw up
your shots. well i found something out that can help you determine whether
you hit the person or not. the first sign is that the other persons shields
get all crackly, that means you hit them and they are about to re-charge.
if you didnt hit them you wont see their shields glow and get ‘crackly’.
Note-this is a reference to the lines that show up when you get hit. now
if you are playing Halo PC with a graphics card that cant completly run
Halo PC all you will see is a yellow layer surround the person. another
way you can tell if you hit the other guy is by turning up your speakers
to a decent amount. loud enough so you can hear above anything else. when
you go in a game and expreriance some lag, find a enemy and shoot him with
a pistol. now if the shot made contact with the person you will hear a beep
sound come out of you speakers. if you dont then shoot again and there will
be a brief ‘beep’ sound. this is extreamly helpful for when you shoot
someone but dont know if the shot connected. i dont know how much it might
help you but this helps me alot since i like to take cover and not storm
out, and to me its important to know whether i hit the guy or i
missed
Hey podtacular! I have a great tip for you guys, if you are losing a game
only by a little and you can’t catch up you should try and camp in just
one room and let the other team come to you that way you can get them with
gernades a lot easier. In lockout you could camp in the teleporter room or
in Gemini you should try camping up near both teleporters and in the tree
and catch the other team in the back and assaniate them from behind or
catch them in the head with your battle rifle from in the tree! Great
podcast guys!
hey guys this is a little tip for stealing warthogs and spectures. all u
have to do is right before u are going to board a full car, throw a
gernade then quickly board. once u throw out the pilote the gernade will
explode and kill everyone expet for u. this tip works for campiagn and
multiplayer.
p.s. u have to have host to do this in multiplayer.
Hi Foo and guest hosts I’m New and have a tip for my favorite game
types(which Bungie sadly took off the ranked Rumble Pit playlist), Rumble
King and Crazy King, in these games the hills have uncontested hill off so
you always get time when you are in the hill. I’ve found that if ou jump
into the hill, kneel and look down that people dont notice you as easily,
and you gain time with more ease. This is most effective on Rumble King
rather than Crazy King and if you are a dark color.
I have found a way to stop the ability to use the teleporters in a
multiplayer game. First you need one vehicles (preferably your enemies)
and you take it to the side that dosent let you return and you drive it in
there and park it in it and now that teleporter is disabled untill it is
moved or destroyed. Now this is excellent because you have three
advandages, one it would disable the ability to move across the map fast,
second if they try to move the vehicles you or a member of your clan can
snipe them out and get kills, and finally they have one less vehlicles.
Hey guys this a tip that works alot with the SMG,dual wield SMGs, and other
automatic guns. I don’t know if anyone has sent this tip in yet but when
you have an automatic like the SMG you should keep running and/or jumping
around them but kepp getting closer and closer and of course when you are
doing all of this shoot and/or throw grenades at them when you get close
enough hit them. When you hit them their shields will proably down or gone
so the hit will be able to kill them. Keep the good work guys and nice job
beating Bungie.
The nice thing about the Carbine is that not a lot of people will pick
it up, which means that it is more available than a Battle Rifle. With the
Carbine, you can kill really fast, and the way you do it is by getting the
shots out on the person as quick as possible. A technique that has really
helped me with this weapon is that you don’t have to hammer the trigger
all the way down in order for the rounds to fire. If you find out just how
far down you have to pull the trigger in order for a round to fire, you can
keep the trigger almost pulled down that far and twitch your trigger finger
to get the shots out fast. Don’t forget about this great weapon.
Hey podtacular, i just started listening to you guys and i feel i should
share this with you. In any game, especially on coag, or Containment, dont
go straight for the power weapons ie, the sniper or rocket launcher or
brute shot. Your opponnents rely on these weapons too much and in the end,
become a crutch. When they run out of ammo for these weapons, there power
is gone and because of this you should do the following. In your group, always have one or two people to camp near the ammo
respawns for the power weapons, because its garunteed that your enemies
will always run there as soon as they are out. Its an easy way to keep
your team informed on what your up against since you know if they have
which power weapons and if they do and they are out of ammo.
Also, this is a good tactic for coag or burial grounds. This is called
the Dukes of hazzard tactic. If your team has to plant the bomb, have one
person go into the wartthog, and just drive straight into the enemy and
then drive away. At this time, it is imperitive to yell like drunken
southerners and honk the horn. it infuriates the team to no end, and they
go out of thier way to waste there manpower and ammo on you.
If you don’t play on a 9 inch TV like me, then you might want to switch to
widescreen in the Xbox dashboard. This makes the BR reticle larger and
easier to aim with.
The “Claw” is another way to hold the controller. Usage of the “claw”
configuration can have a very large advantage over non-clawers. As it
enables you to turn, jump, melee, change weapons and reload while aiming.
The “Claw” goes as:
Left Index on left trigger and Left Thumb on Left Thumbstick.
Middle Finger on right trigger, Right Index Finger over the 4 buttons and
Right thumb on the Right Thumbstick.
Knowing shortcut jumps in many maps can give save you a lot of time
without going around corners. So if you see a 90 degree turn and there’s
space in between just jump over it. Just be careful when jumping.
Know where everything this
One tip that people often over look is the useful know how of knowing
exactly where everything is. If you go into a map knowning where every
single frag gernade is, where every single hiding spot is, and where every
single weapon is then you’ll have a huge advantage over your opponets.
Stay Smart
A normal person wouldn’t go running into traffic at rush hour would they?
So why should you run out into the middle of Lockout when the opposing
team had the sniper? Stay smart, dont go over the train tracks on terminal
without looking, dont run into a fully loaded base with just a smg and a
prayer, be smart with how you play. Also, do think of doing
not-so-ordinary things such as using the ledges on lockout to get ontop of
certain areas and avoid the ramps. As well as others, go to places people
wouldn’t think you’d go.
BOOM HEAD SHOT!
Theres a reason why its a fimilar saying, because headshots simple do more
damage. Granted if your dual weilding needlers aiming at your opponets head
wont help you very much but for us Br whores it will. 3-4 head shots is way
better than 6-7+ body shots.
whats up folks, this is filthy, just figured id throw a great tip your way
that seems so simple, it’ll sound crazy that people don’t try it. Here it
is, don’t die so much. Regardless of what your level is, be a little more
tactical, you may not have 24 kills each game, but a 9 kill 6 death ratio
is much better than getting 15 and dying 20 times. Like i said, its super
simple, but a lot of games are won and lost by a teammate that won’t stop
dying. later folks.
I have found a way for people without xbox live to play on the internet.
the program itself is called XBConnect. this program is xbox, PSP, and 360
compatible. but the main point of this is to allow you to play Halo 2
without XBL. the setup is quite simple. all you need is a high speed
internet connection, a router, and computer thats hooked up to the router,
and a xbox. what you do is hook the xbox to the router and the computer to
the router. simple enough right? now start a game, i started halo 2 and i
went to the system link menu. i chose my profile and it took me to the
game selection menu. of course there were no games.
now we go back to the XBConnect program. You start it up and login. then
you go under the Halo 2 games menu, or whatever game you want to play.
then it shows you a list of servers. there are anywhere from 50 to 150
servers at a time. select a server and it will open a window that is the
game menu. it detects the game and shows who is waiting to play. now if
you look on your t.v. a game will show up under the system-link menu. join
the game and there you are playing on hte internet against people from who
knows where.
i dont know how it works but i guess it tricks the system link into
linking with the internet. i dont know but it works. here is the site link: http://www.xbconnect.com/index.php
A big tip I have to stay at your level is do not go into matchmaking by
yourself. I was a 27 or 28 and i kept getting matched up with delevelers
and went down to a 23. If you go with a full party, you dont have to worry
about delevelers. Also, try to get the double shot down. It helps ALOT if
you’re in a BR battle because you get a faster kill than the other guy.
Beaver Creek is where it all goes down, “dawgs”.
Here are some tips to keep you one step ahead of the competition:
1 – The bases on Beaver Creek aren’t equipped with kitchens, so plan on
bringing peanut butter sandwichs for you and your team.
2 – The fastest way across the creek is by motorboat, so make sure you
bring plenty of gas for the boat and a few fishing rods, just in case you
get hungry along the way.
3 – If you choose to take the teleporters to go to the other base, make
sure you say “Beam Me Up, Scotty!” before jumpin through.
4 – Putting up posters of Cortana and Miranda Keyes naked will raise your
teams morale. Cortana, your encryption is showing!
When you reach the front of your enemies base, yell out “Bow Chicka Bow
Wow!” to attract hot young ladies to your position. This doesn’t really
serve any strategic value, but at least you’ll have hot ladies to hold
onto as you buttrush the base.
so i got some tips for beaver creek. this map is small so the games i
normally play on it are no shield shotguns and rockets. rockets is crazy
on this map and i suggest you try it. but anyways i got some tips here and
ill list them off.
1. Dont go running through the middle of the map and think you wont die.
there always will be one if not 2 people gaurding the front of the base
and as soon as you come in range you will get hit with bullets and
possibley a grenade. so charging in a direct line from the front of your
base to the front of the other base isnt so smart.
2. Use the sides of the map. Sticking to the sides greatly increases you
chance of survival since you know where to expect enemy fire to come from.
The sniper lofts on either side of the map are useful. The one that leads
to the rocket spawn is more deadly since there is more cover and that area
is darker allowing you to blend in if you are on the blue team.
3. Use the teleporters. They can save your life and they can help you get
the jump on the flag carrier. Use with caution though. ive walked through
too many teleporters only to get fragged by some noob who thinks hes good
because he guarded the teleporter. silly yes but putting someone to guard
the teleporter can land you those extra kills and jumping between both
teleporter can help you gain time on games like oddball.
4. Use grenades on this map. They are effective. Plasma grenades generally
are useful but they give themselves with that blue glow. unless your enemy
is a complete dumbass and is attracted to the blue glow of the grenade
then the only reason to use them is to stick people. fragmentation
grenades work the best here. throwing a random grenade to the other side
of the map can get you a triple kill so use them alot. in games like king
and oddball throw nades at the hill or the skull spawn point to soften the
area up before you grab the skull or take possesion of the hill.
5. Try and force close combat situations. If the other person can kill you
from across the map on beaver creek something is wrong. Dont try to go long
or medium range on this map since you wont get any kills unless you can
no-scope like hell. forceing close range combat makes a difference since a
BR can tear you down at medium range but at close range its impossible to
shoot. then with the fact that most weapons on map are close to mid range
weapons it only makes sence to force a close combat situation.
Here is a tip for Beaver AND Battle Creeek. For Beaver, When u have the
sniper, ump on to th base, and jump off over and over again. But to do
this , you must have good snipering abilities. On old school battle creek,
When u have Camo, get the sniper, and jump up onto the rock ledge . This i
on the opposite side of the beginning of the arc-thingy. Once ur up there,
you turn all master Splinter like cuz ur whooping dem n00bs.
Beaver Creek is a great map to use power weapon and over shield control. This map is so small, that control of these items is devastating. When
going for sniper or rockets at the start of the game make sure you take
the other out. Example if you get rockets keep an eye on sniper and if
you pick up sniper look for the guy getting rockets. But I will say this;
about the only thing I like to use the sniper for on this map is to take
the rocket guy out in the beginning to get the rockets. Other than that,
I’m not to big on using the sniper on this map because of all the cover
and the map is so small you have to be really quick with the snipe.
Ohh and DON’T FORGET OUT THE BR’s. These weapons are some times
overlooked because of there location (in the bases). But when used on top
of a base they are very affective to get kills and cover your flag or bomb
guy.
One last thing, if you can get a hold of the noob combo on this map, DO
IT!! Certain game types still have the noob combo in them, use it, use
the HELL out of it. In rumble pit games it’s great to use behind the
bases. Just camp there and rack up the kills but, be sure to prepare
yourself for the verbal beating you will get from the rest of the players
after the game for using the combo.
WATCH HALO NEWS IT MAKES YOU SMART!!!!!
Beaver Creek is all about camping, yes I know its noobish but its true. If
you are playing SWAT, camp the portals, if you are playing Team Slayer you
must hold the side of the bases down. Also you must watch your Teamates
back, that is key cause if one of you teamates goes down by two or more
people you are done….unless you have rockets.
A really big tip at the start of the game is to go for either rockets or
noob combo. Whoever has those will almost always win the match.I use this
strategy and find myself winning alot on beaver creek unless im playing
with delevelers on my team.
Beaver Creek slayer games have always been one of my favorites. The idea is
to control the rockets, sniper, overshield, combos/br’s, and shotguns. Many
people think that if you spawn in blue base you get the sniper, and red
gets the rockets. In reality blue team gets both power weapons. If you
shatter the ceiling glass ontop of the battle rifle spawn and look
straight up you see a constalation. You throw a grenade and the rockets
should fall right infront of the blue pistol entrance. Also a tip that
some people don’t know is that the overshield spawns every 1 minute
exactly. If you can time it right you could have overshield the whole
game. and if everything goes well, you win.
Yo PodtacULAH!
How is it in the hizzle? Good.
I was thinkin you guys might want some tips for teh Beava Kreekzors. Yes?
Good.
Many people forget about the OVERSHIELD. So, like, don’t. It respawns
every 30 seconds.
“There are no good places to snipe on this map.” WRONG! Just go to Blue
Base, the one with the big, uh, thingy on top, and hide behind it to
snipe. This will give you good cover. And when someone comes to GET YOU,
then just drop down into the hole behind you and whip out your BR.
And don’t be the first to go through the teleporter. Camp yours with teh
shotty, for a minute, and if no one comes through, then go through to
their base.
If playing in a Snipers game on Beaver Creek and you spawn in the
base(either one) go to the front enterence and start shooting, in my
experince you can get about 5 kills before people start looking for you
and I am a level 25 in snipers.
I found that if you jump through the teleporter, it is harder for
someone on the other side to melee you.
I may not be a expert, but I usually try to take a bomb up on top of the base, so I can get the drop on my enemies and hopefully arm the bomb. Or, If I’m playing CTF, jump in, grab the flag, throw it to someone(s) waiting on top. Then they grab it, use the teleporter, throw it to someone on top of your base, then they take it and score. Be careful tho, because jumping ontop of the base will reveal your location on radar, if only for a brief moment.
A great defense involves keeping a few guys on top to guard the windows, and the teleporter, and the entrance ramps, and power weapons…
Spam is good, If you see someone someone arming the bomb or about to take your flag, get on top of the base and near the back window. Spam that sucker with a few grenades and you should be safe.
The overshield can come in real handy if you want to sneak in through the top of the opponents base and arm the bomb or jack the flag or something.
The tops of the bases are suprisingly good places to snipe from, just have someone watch your back. Or if not there, snipe from the top of the rocks near the rocket spawn.
In flag games the general strat. is to either run the flag up the middle
as fast as possible, or do a quick toss to the person on top of the base.
Making the Sniper rifle the premire weapon on this map. Even though it is
very close quarters at times, its imperative to hold the sniper so that
you’ll be able to see the enemy from all points on the map.
Do the obvious somtimes on assult or ctf going straight through the mddle
is the best option. But always remember to shout the good name of ala when
arming the bomb and reaching the great paradise.
CTF: The best way to win is to split the team in half. As long as there are 2
people on offense, the strategy will work out. This strategy usally works
best in team slayer. First, someone on defense goes and grabs the sniper,
and watches out for the rocket guy. Meanwhile, the second guy on defense
should go for oversheild, then get the rockets and come back to the base.
The offense on the other hand should be protected by the sniper too. One
person gets inside the base and then grabs te flag, he now has 2 options-
1.Throw the flag out the small “windows” on the left and right of the
base.
2.Or, he could throw the flag up top through the hole in the opening.
Depending on the location of the second guy on offense, Throw it where he
is closer too. Then, the guy outside the base quickly rushes through the
teleporter. He then hops on top the base and pops in to score it. Just
continue that technique and victory should be on you side
Three tips for Multi Flag CTF and CTF classic. The thirst tip is , on
beaver creek when you go for the flag always enter the oppositions base
with a team mate so one of you will pick up the flag and the other
distracts the opposition. The next tip is when you grab the enemy flag
throw it on to the roof (were a team mate should be) by standing on the
ledge above the flag spawn, jump and release the flag then the team mate
should grab the flag and run away (hopefully to the capture point). You
can also throw it out of the window at the side of the base. I find this
helpful because its quicker running out of the base with the flag were
there is chances of the enemy traping you in the base but you must make
sure you throw the flag out of the base before running out of the base.
Finaly a good way to piss of team mates is to grab the rockets and blow
your team mates up. It successfully works i have tried it (its not a mod).
I like chicken.
blahblah
oddball: If your playing a ball game on beaver creek remember to keep moving
around, espically with your teamates. Since there are so many different
ways to get to each part of the map its better to keep moving around in
random areas. The only good “hiding” point would be a teleporter, but
watch out of people popping through it with a sticky.
Recently we got to interview Matt from RvB, the guy who plays Sarge and other characters. Here’s how it went down…
Thanks again, Matt, and big thanks to LairdSB for setting that up. We have lots of interviews lined up for future shows so definitely look forward to more of those. And if you’re up there in the Halo community (or know someone who is) and you want some free promotion, email us at podtacular@gmail.com and we’ll see if we can set that up.
