Tips Show, map of the month Lockout (explain) also Codex interview at the end!

General Tips

I am currently a 35 and have a good tip that i try to tell my friends but
they dont seem to get the idea. when i watch them they always run around
guns blazing and dont seem to do so well, which is for good reason.
Whenever u play a game of slayer u shouldnt just go get the dual
smg/plasma rifle combo and go hunting for people…this will very easily
get u killed nearly every time unless ur very lucky. What u should do is
always try to keep an advantage over ur opponents instead of relying on
luck to get the kill. Always try to have the high ground and have a
weapon like the BR, Carbine, or any kind of rifle that for when you need the
intant kill with the headshot. also know where all the hotspots are, the
places that people ALWAYS go to, u can pick up some very easy kills this
way. Grenades are ur best friend and dont be shy to throw them all the
time…when ur running down a hallways throw them through doors, down
corridors in front and behind u, you’ll very often hit someone with them and
even if u don’t it will keep them behind cover so u know exactly where to
look. make sure to always be throwing them if u know sumone is
there…it will keep them pinned down so u can easily get to them or have a
partner flank them. another good tip that works very well for Midship is
to shoot people even if u know theres no way u can kill them, like if
theyre about to run behind a wall, that one shot u get on them will keep
them behind that wall until their shields come back keeping them out of the
fight for a few moments. and always make sure to call out every single
person u see and how many times u hit them so that a partner could pick
them off from a better angle than u have. so my most helpful tip is to
always make sure u have some kind of advantage over ur opponent, never rely
on surprising ur enemy or getting that first shot off.

Hey Guys, Rusty 2005i here and I’ve got a tip for you but actually it’s not
a tip you know but um yeah Foo Mo I think you should say that thing about
how to wear the original Xbox Live Headset if the clippo is a broken
because it ROCKS!!!

i have a very general tip about the sword. If you play on a map where you
can “fall to your death” you should try to avioid just charging an enemy
with the sword. This is because that you have a probability of falling
off the ledge yourself, and then you lose your kill and the energy sword.
If avoided you could be able to keep your sword for perhaps a few more
minutes and rack up a couple more kills for your team.

While I know being an covenant elite makes any sniper shot above the waist
is a head shot, It has more armor that takes on the secondary emblem
color. If you have your secondary color set as pink or red and you are
blue, it makes you appear red, confusing the enemy. It also works
backwards, secondary color blue and you are red. I found this out when me
and a bunch of friends all became pink elites with red hearts and went
into matchmaking.

Tips for better pwning.
1. Stretch before playing, i usually start with a thumb stretch.
2. FLuids and lots of them, so when you die and you got that 5 seconds to
respawn a quick gulp of Mountain Dew or the Dr. and you should be good.
3. It’s always best to keep a towel at hand for when it really get’s
intense, if sweat get’s in your eyes that’s one less kill you could of
had.
4. Speach, always say Noob, every other word should be Noob, eventually it
will come fluently to you.
5. Music, Playing music for all to hear is the best, do it for maximum
annoyance.
6. Bragging, Headshots,BxR,Sticks, or even just a basic kill, Brag like
there no tommorow, just to piss the other team off.
7. Now the most important thing every true Halo 2 player should always do
is this, Tea-Bag, most uber noobs do it improperly by missing the body or
tea bagging the wrong part of the body, it’s simple once the person is
killed, walk up to them and crouch repeatedly over the dead of your victim
while shouting random words.

Bonus. 2 things every team should try.
1. make a train, to make a train crouch and walk slowly behind one
another throughout the entire lvl or game.
2. Team Tea Bagging, this is the most effective move a team can make
during a game, it really shows the other team that your BALLS are large
and in charge. well thanks for listening and i’m slightly retarded.

when your team has the flag (and is halfway to home base)when there about to score have some one go with camo and a good backup weapon (shoutgun rockets)to the enemy base and wait for the flag to respawn by standing on the flag base and standing still so when your team scores he has the flag and can get out of the base with the flag and score with the rest of the team backing him up AFTER he Gets in a vehicle so he can score (use this for close quarter maps considering the time the camo runs out.)

but seriously, crouch-meleeing is probably one of the best combos you can
do in close combat. it will make your opponents melee miss, and leave you
for an easy beat down while your crouching. experiment different scenarios
where you can crouch.

foo mo: tell that tip from MLG: the anticipation dodge: crouch, then stand up and jump. plus the gandhi hop.

Here is an easy way to improve your game. Go into either low level slayer
on a second account or team training on your main and turn on your
handicap to moderate. Keep playing games with it at this level and it will
help you be more alert of enimies and also help you get better at frantic
fire fight situations. It also forces you to utilize such techniques as
BXR, BXB and noob combo. Keep up the good work. yivkX360

Most Halo 2 tips involve strategies that rely on you being alive and being
constantly in the game. A much more effective strategy would be to
concentrate on recovering after getting killed, because face it, you will
die in every single game, with very few exceptions. For example, after
you respawn, return to the spot you died to pick up your old weapons. Chances are that if you had a power weapon, it will have been picked up by
your killer. For example, if you had rockets and a BR, your killer will
have probably picked up the rockets, but they might leave your BR. This
way you already have a step up on many of the other players. Also, if you
die with a power weapon, you should try to play according to the assumption
that your enemy will now have it. if you die with the sniper, dont run out
in the open, if you die with the sword, be watching radar and stay out of
tight areas. If you die with rockets, try to surprise the enemy. Just
make sure you dont go straight back into combat after you die, check your
teammates, and make sure you make the quickest recovery possible.

In order to make turns in a speedy fashion it helps to use the E-brake
(The L-trigger) while making your turn. Make sure you hit the E-brake
right after you’ve begun to turn, and release the brake before you finish
this turn to regain control. This will insure that the brake wont inhibit
your turning radius or speed significantly. Sometimes, you will catch
someone off guard as you turn a corner at deadly speed to hit them head on
or smack them with your tail-end as you tend to fishtail a bit. These sharp
turns also help in avoiding rocket fire.

This tip is for all u average to below average snipers (no offence cough
cough foo moo cough cough.) Anyway, if you’re not a very good sniper there
might be another way for u to redeem yourselves. There is another sniping
method called “sweep sniping.” What u do is u put your look sensitivity on
7 or higher, and when you’re ready to snipe someone u look to the side of
them and u sweep across your screen. When your redicule is on the person
it will stop on the enemy for a few seconds allowing u to fire, and
hopefully hit your opponent. I have seen this tip work for many below
average snipers and by using the “Sweep Sniping” method they are able to
become much better snipers. I also want to give credit to Reaping Raven
for showing me this useful tip.

1. dont use the BR in close range situations unless you can BRX extreamly
well. otherwise it gets very hard to aim and most of your shots miss. it
is better to use another weapon al-together for close range like a shotgun
or a SMG

2. use the scope when you are in mid to long range. just because you can
see the person when you are not scoped doesnt mean you will hit them. most
of your bullets will miss. using the scope increases your accuracy and you
dont waste as many bullets.

3. headshots count. with the gametype SWAT that bungie just created they
are more important than ever. with a BR only 1 out of the 3 need to hit
the guy so make it count. if you are effective at using the scope and good
at headshots then you are garunteed to win a game if not get second or
third.

4. the BR has recoil. the 3 shot burst is funny since not all the shots go
the same way. the second and third bullets are higher than the first one so
this creates a problem when you are going for a headshot. if you aim for
the upper part of the head then only 1 or 2 bullets will impact. if you
aim lower however all 3 bullets can hit the head making your shots count.

I have a tip for the kids who fear the sword.
2 easy ways to beat the sword are to back up moving side to side at the same time and shoot for the head.
another is to use the shotty. with the shotgun the best thing is to actually charge towards the sword guy and with good timing you should be able to shoot the melee rapidly and dominate the sword. good practice is to play customs where 1 team gets only the sword and one gets only shotgun and the shotguns should come out on op after they get the timing down. keep on fraggin trucks

Recently I started a forum topic called, “The best way
to dodge a BR…”. I felt it was important skill to
have because the BR is a critical part of your Halo 2
strategy beyond level 20. You have to be good at using
the Battle Rifle against your opponent, but at the
same time you also be good at dodging it effectively.
This is a compilation of the best posts from my topic
and a few of my own tips.

Night Fire XL:
“I say just try to be unpredictable, jumping usually
never works unless you jump into cover because they
know where your gonna land and will hit you.”

xXRaYa (All-Star):
“Move side to side. Aim for the head. And [you] really
shouldn’t throw grenades unless they are running away,
because they will either back away from the explosion
and kill you, or you will [likely] both die.

And when running away, face down and run into hiding.”

Mexicutioner:
“Crouching doesn’t help unless hes a noob. And
definitely don’t jump. I usually try to rush them
unless I’m too far to reach them because its harder to
fight with a BR up close.”

Magniris:
“Crouching alone will not help you in a BR battle.
However, mix it in with your sidestepping and you’ve
got the little advantage that will help you win. It’s
tough to pull off, but it could make him miss 2
bullets so he’ll have to fire a fifth shot, giving you
the chance to catch up, double shot, four shot, quad
shot, anything like that.

Also, a good way to dodge instead of strafing is
slowly rotating your left stick in a circle. It
changes the angle at which the other player must shoot
at, as well as a small change in the pitch that s/he
must shoot at as well. This works well in a close to
mid-range battle, and if you’re in a very close long
range BR battle, might avoid headshots.”

If you are a level 23-25 take all of this information
to heart and really practice your dodging skills. If
you ever have someone get the drop on you with the BR,
use these methods to even the playing field.

Hey guys, these are a few tips for people who are struggling in the
Matchmaking Dead Zone of 23-25. It seems like if there is going to ever be
a rut in your steady acension to the top of the leaderboards it is going to
be in that area. Here are a few tips to help you keep climbing the Halo
Ladder.

1. Always enter matchmaking with at least one good friend who is as good
or better than you. It dosn’t matter how good you are if your team is just
going to do the dieing for you…

2. Make sure to get your hands on a Medium Range weapon like a Carbine or
BR. Sometimes I even find myself exchanging a shotgun or sword (if I have
the sniper) for a BR. I always feel safer with a BR as my “Primary Weapon”
because I know that I can deal with threats that are both up close and
reasonably far away.

3. Know how to even the playing field! In Halo, it is all about how much
shield you have compared to the other guy, and how you can best get their
shield to deplete. For instance, if someone starts shooting you with the
BR and gets your shield down before you can react, throw a grenade or
melee them to even up the shield difference (If they get 3 shots on you
with BR but you melee them, its like it becomes even, you have the same
chance they do of coming out on top). I have found that grenades are the
best way to “even up the playing field”.
4. Fight on your own terms! If someone gets the drop on you, keep them at
bay with a volley of shots or a grenade, then duck behind a wall, then use
your motion tracker to put a grenade in a doorway or in front of their path
to you. That way, even if they initially had the advantage, now they are
falling into YOUR trap and not vice versa.

5. Dont use a weapon you dont have to! I have seen so many people charge
down a BR man with a shotgun only to end up getting killed because the
opponent was smart enought to just back up. Keep the power weapons to
yourself unless you are safe enough to use them. Just because you have a
sniper dosn’t mean you HAVE to use it, you can use that BR too.

6. Dont run around with the sword out! If someone sees you have the sword
they are probably going to just back up and kill you because they know not
to. If you keep it in secondary until in range, you will likely surprise
them when you flip it out and lunge before they even here it energize.

There is so much more I would like to say, but this is long enough. Good
luck to everyone who is stuck in the 23-25 hell hole, you’ll get out soon
enough!

Here are some tips if you ever get hold of the sword and want to know how
to use it correctly.

1. Don’t use it the whole time you have it. That’s just cheap, and it will
make you look bad.

2. Hold it in your back pocket while running around. This will eliminate
someone staying at a distance from you if they see you across the map.

3. A good tactic is only to pull it out in a super close situation, not
when running toward them and think you might be able to make the lunge.
Chances are, you won’t get the distance and will get BR’d down.

4. Last tip, is with sticky grenades. Use the sword lunge to get very
close to the person and at the same time hit the left trigger to throw a
sticky on the person as you fly past. I’ve had it work numerous times and
it comes in handy when there is a couple people and you don’t want to
waste time waiting to lunge again.

When you are in a Banshee, if someone boards you, do a barrel roll into a
wall. If you are at the right distance the person will fall off the
banshee. But your Banshee stays ‘open’ as if they boarded you.

hey its smoothkriminal9 and ive got some tips. Get in the habit of pressing
X after you beatdown. this makes bXr-ing and bXb-ing much easier to
remember. Next, make sure you know what grenades youre using, b/c everyone
hates trying to stick someone and having a frag come out. When youre using
a sword switch weapons after you lunge, this eliminates the cool down time
when you cant do anything, and it makes killtaculars even easier. When
youre sniping with the beam rifle, if you cant get a headshot, go for a
body shot and press R twice fast, that way the second shot is pretty much
guaranteed to hit and they wont have a chance to escape. also dont forget
you can bxr with a beam rifle, this is really useful for those awkward
melee battles in team snipers. speaking of melee, strafe while your
hitting someone, alot of the time itll make them miss.Thats about all i
can think of now.

Lets face it a lot of people use sword on lockout, and yes it is very hard
to defend. One of the only ways to stop an oncoming sword guy is to take
him out with you. How you say, well what I do is I wait for him to lunge
at me and right before he connects with me I throw a stickie, 90% of the
time it sticks him because he is so close, and vuala you have gotten rid
of the sword guy for the time being.

A common mistake when fighting someone who is close up to you is panicking.
Unless they have a shotgun/sword, chances are you have a few moments. Calm
dow, level the sniper at head. And just aim for where they are at that
moment. At that range auto-aim will do the rest. (Not the cheating kind.
You know, how if you put a BR on someone you automatically follow them a
little.) Another mistake is when you can’t scope in on someone far away,
you. once again, will tend to panic. Don’t. If he’s moving straight toward
you, calmy aim anywhere on him and fire twice (For good measure) If he’s
jumping, aim where he’ll land instead of trying to follow him through
flight. Once again, shoot twice. Another little thing. If the game is oddball, assault, KOTH, then maybe
you can thrwo grenades. But in slayer, only throw grenades either when
someone runs away aroun a bend (like Warlock) or when they’re really close
up with a good weapon and you have a plasma grenade. (A good weapon would
be a sword, shotgun) In a BR fight, people like to throw grenades if
they’re losing, instead of dodging and moving side to side while firing.
Sure, maybe the grenade will hurt him. But why take the chance? Wouldn’t
you be better off making sure he loses health, so your teammates can pick
him off later? With a grenade, he might just jump away, and you would have
done nothing to help. I hope this helps some of you!

Hey guys its L1NK aka LinkTheSpartan. One tip I have is using BXL. I think
its been said before but it deserves mentioning again because it works
wonderfully when sticking opponents. The melee gets you in nice and close,
and bam! Sticky right on them.

If you are playing on a map with vehicles such as Coagulation, and you
don’t have a vehicle make sure you pack some stickys before you start your
LONG hike to the opposing base. A single sticky will take out any ghost or
banshee that you may come across, and greatly damage a hog. This will
increase your chances of making it to the opposing base so that you can
die from that guy who is ALWAYS camping the flag with a shotgun ;).

This is a tactic that is not employed by many players for taking out hogs. While stickys are great against ghosts and banshees, they can only kill at
most 2 of the occupants of a full hog. Now here is the trick to taking
out a Warthog and all of its occupants quickly. As the hog appoches throw
a frag, IT HAS TO BE A FRAG, in front of the hog so that the frag will
detonate when it is either underneth (ideal) or very close to the front of
the hog. If done correctly the grenade will flip the hog and it will land
upsidedown. quickly throw a second grenade at the hog and the hog will
usually explode killing all three occupants. The reason this works is
because it takes a few seconds after the hog has been flipped for the game
to eject the passengers. by this time your second grenade has reached the
hog and they will still be close to the hog when its explodes killing
them.(their shields will have taken some sort of damage from the first
grenade so the explosion from the secound grenade and the hog will finish
them)

Hi podtacular listeners, this is Red, If you’re loosing the battle on
Lockout, trick the other team by challenging them to a dance contest in
the center of Lockout. Since the MJOLNIOR armor is a hefty one-thousand
pounds it will truly test your skills on the dance floor. I highly
recommend dancing to the “Beverly Hills 3 Cop” theme. Winner Stays, Loser
Pays! This has worked for me at least three times.

Hey guys its EG Church I have some good tips for Halo 2. 1.is dont rush i9n
slayer matches espically in team slayer. 2. Try to be as close to cover as
you possibly can be. 3. when your shields are down throw grenades a better
idea is to get behind cover and quickly come out of cover throw a grenade
and get back to cover and repeat. Also try watching videos from
www.halo-pro.com you should definitly check out the Orge montage called
ORGES MONTAUGE. Anyways talk to you guys later keep on fraggin trucks.

THE DOUBLE SHOT!! que drum roll Probably one of if not the most
contriversial glitch in Halo 2. This glitch allows you to shoot two BR
bursts form your BR at once. So how do you pull this off? RRX but of
course it’s not that simple or else everyone would be doing it. Now there
is 2 ways to do this. Either a quad shot (2 consecutive double shots) or 2
normal BR shots followed by a double shot to finish (also called a triple
shot). To practice make a juggernaut game where you have infinite ammo and
a BR and a secondary weapon. now when you press R the first time don’t
fully depress the trigger. Only enough to shoot then a fraction of a
second later fully depress and hold the trigger and press X at pretty much
the same time if done correctly your gun will auto reload with no
animation. you can also press YY quickly to skip this and double shot
again but only if you have a secondary.
Remeber timing and practice is the key to getting this down also the best
times to double shot are

1:When the enemy has first shot

2:When someone is running straight at you

3: when they are in a narrow space(like the ramps on Lockout)

also remember don’t double shot without a secondary unless they are weak
enough to die from one double shot the auto reload takes you can press B
to cancel but that still takes alot of time.

Map of the Month: Lockout

Team Slayer and FFA Slayer

Hey guys, I have some tips for Team MLG games on Lockout. First off, this
map, (especially in a 1v1 game), is a huge fight for the higher levels. If
possible, never drop down to a lower level to get away, try thinking more
horizontal. While most people fight over the Sniper 1 and 2, try and
control the BR Tower. If you put one man with a sniper and br on the top
level, one man in the middle level, looking out from the window about the
sword. And two people on the bottom, it will be very hard for the other
team to take the BR tower; and if they do, they will probably not have
enough time to set up, and you will be able to take it back immediately.
Now of course, you don’t have control of the sniper, or the shotgun. But
besides this one downfall, this is a very good strategy.

Hey all, I have some more tips. This one is for communication. When in a
battle, “ZOMG he’s on the one thingy by that gun!!!” doesn’t really help.
So, to help you guys out, here are some of the common generic names for
different places on this map. First off, numbers. When you name a place,
you say the area, and then the level. The number for the level goes from
bottom to top. So, the bottom level is 1, the middle is 2, and the top is
3, and so on. Now for names, the BR tower. Called ‘BR’ when naming it,
this is the tower closest to the sword, with a BR, and some fusion cores
at the top. Now, the ‘library’. This area has many names, but library is
the moest commonly used. This is the area above and and by the sword.
Adjacent to the BR tower, many times a team will use BR tower and library
1 or 2 in conjunction. Next, the middle, or ‘glass’. Glass 2 is very open,
so often people will move throughout the level through Glass 1. If your
team controls Glass 1, they control where the other team goes. Next, the
gravlift, or ‘lift’ This is the blue-ish purple gravlift. This is not a
very strong position, with it’s many entrances and little cover. I often
try to avoid this area whenever possible, only using as a stepping stone
to get to the BR Tower or the Sniper Tower. The Green Room, or ‘Green’ is
below the lift, and contains the shotgun. Next, the walkway from the
Sniper Tower to “Lift 1”. This is in the bottom corner, and referred to as
‘The Elbow”, or “Elbow”. This is also a open and dangerous area. Only use
this as a stepping stone, like the lift. And lastly, the Sniper Tower, or
“Sniper”. The most commonly used area in most games, this area is easy to
hold, and overlooks much of the map. That’s all of ‘em (or at least I
think it is). Hope this helps.

You all know the area were the fusion cores on sniper 3 are right? Well
once you blow them up grab a BR and sniper go and crouch in the small
space were the fusion cores once were. Make sure that you are crouching,
and against the side that leads down to snip 2 is. This is a good spot to
snipe/BR people at the top lift and BR 2. When people come up to snip 3
they wont no that you are there and you will be able to assassinate them
when they step in front of you. Snip people before they get cover on BR 3.
If they reach BR 3 and are not sniped by you all they have to do is throw a
few plasmas at sniper 3 and you go boom. After you stay at sniper 3 for a
while jump down and head over to BR 3. The other team will think that you
are still at sniper 3 and they will keep looking at the fusion core space.
Once this happens snip them. All in all this is a good way to get at least
15 kills if your good at it. NOTE: This tip only works AGENST lvl 25-. Lvl
30s i hope would know about this. If they don’t then there stupid!!!!!!

One tip for Lockout is to only use the elbow if it is a last resort
because the elbow offers very little cover from all angles and it is very
easy for enemies to throw grenades at you, but very hard for you to throw
grenades at them.

To quicken your way through the map look at the tops of entrances. What I mean by this is that on the top of every “door” there is a thin border.
For example, if you are going from the grav-lift and up the elbow to the
sciper tower. You can jump on top of the rail and then on the door border,
then jump up to the next level. By doing this you can but your travel time
and maybe surprise some enemies.

There is only one thing you need to do when you’re playing a team game on
Lockout. You are only successful on this map with COMMUNICATION. My friend
once told me a clan’s motto, which I forgot which clan, but the motto was
“the XBox headset is your weapon, you’re controller is your sidearm”. I
try to live by this and communicate with my team. If our communication is
better or on par with the other team’s, we should be able to find
victory.

Make up your own names for places, for example everybody knows what the
“sniper tower” is, so don’t say sniper tower arrange with your team to
call it ST or ST1 for basement or S1 or S2 etc. If those start to catch on
switch. There’s always the chance because of proximity the other team’s
gonna hear you, especially on Lockout, one of the smaller maps. Don’t say
your at the lift ever if you’re going up it, because if you do and one guy
hears it you’ll probably have 3 or 4 brs aimed at your head if the other
team has decent positioning.

hey its smoothkriminal9 and ive got some tips for lockout. avoid staying in
the bottom of the sniper tower, people constantly throw grenades down there
and youll probably die if youre down there. make sure you have stickies,
theyre really useful in the hallways and ramps because people cant dodge
them easily. control the weapons, make sure someone on your team always
has the sword and sniper because these two weapons can change the battle
completely. try to move in ways your opponents wont expect, remember that
on this map there are multiple entrances to every place. use the br. dont
be dumb and stand next to those exploding things because theyll explode
you. watch out when going into that bottom middle room because people love
to camp down there. watch the elbow, people arent there often, but when
they are its an easy kill. thats pretty much all the tips ive got for now,
i hope they were helpful.

Hey guys this is meean Luc and I just got a quick tip for Lockout when you
are at the top lift and you know someone is comeing up throw a grendae at
one of the two sides of the lift and as the person lands a grenade will
blow up their shields and leave them for an easy kill.

im sure alot of people know about all the the short cuts in lockout, but
here is a refreshment

1. if you shoot the explosive barrels by the sniper, the sniper will fall
down to the lower level. (suggestion) dont try to do this up close with a
SMG

2.its a lot quicker (and a little more surprizing) to jump off the top of
the lift platform and land on the elbow than go from the top lift to
bottom lift in a CTF game.

3. To main camping spots A. Sniper Tower B. Upper Lift

4.Power Weapons: Shotgun and Sword

5. A good (almost unknown) camping spot (good for Hide In Seek) is in the
bottom lift. you jump on the explosive container, then the top of the
door, then jump and crouch to that little area on top of the bottom lift
area.

6. Most common map to find delevelers (due to edges)

hey heres a little lockout tip for the sniper rifle. when shooting the
barrels behind the sniper there are different places it could blow to. if
you shoot the tip right barrel the sniper will go to the library entrance.
the middle barrel will blow the sniper infront of middle br tower and the
left barrel will move the sniper a couple inches and stay on sniper 3.
Also what i find useful most of the time on lockout is to look at the
see-through panels that the map is covered with. For example if you are at
top lift and look at the walkway up to sniper spawn you could see if people
are walking up. The walkways also make sound as you walk on them so its
sometimes smart to walk on the boundaries.

Sometimes while being chased on lockout if you are at the top of the grav
lift and you find yourself being shot from the middle by an enemy. You can
run for the lift, if you slow down right before you get there and then just
step off the edge you can actually go down the lift. This technique only
works if your being followed closly otherwise they will just jump down on
the sides of the lift and kill you. Keep up the good show. Peace out.

I have a few tips for Lockout. In a Slayer match, all of your teammates
should gather in the BR tower. One person should have a sniper or BR and
stand on top of the tower in the right “pocket”(the one without the fusion
cores) so that he can shoot at the top of the sniper tower. another guy
should stay in the left “pocket” (again with a Br or sniper) so that he
can pick off anyone on the mid section of the sniper tower and anyone who
tries to jump up to the BR tower. the other 2 people should defend the
ramps (they can have SMG/Plasma, Shotgun, Sword, or a lot of granades),
one so that the only thing he can see is exit from the libary to the ramp
and the other closer to the top of the other ramp so that he can defend
the turn on the side ramp but is protected from the top of the grav lift. This way each person can only be attacked from the side he is watching.

Another tip is to stay out of the hallways as much as possible! you are a
sitting duck because you have no room to manuver. Also refrain from using
the grav lift because their is almost always someone watching it who can
easily pick you off because you cannot move while being pushed by the
lift.

A few keys to being good at any gametype at lockout are 1. Knowing the names of the different locations of the map ie: Br1,
Overglass, Green Room, Library, Elbow, and there are several others.
2. Knowing the short-cut jumps so you can get to the different areas of
the map quickly. Ie: The jump from the left corner of the top of the
ground lift area to open ramp down by Br3. 3. I know this is dumb but if you are standing by the sniper spawn and you
are shooting at people make sure the fusion cores behind you have been
blown up because this is a very easy way for someone else to kill you, and
while this seems like common sense I see it get done by people all the
time.
4. If possible in slayer games stay away from the elbow and going into the
middle, overglass, because these to spots are very open and make you an easy
target.

Hey guys, I have a tip for lockout that i find very effedtive in slayer
gametypes. If you are at the top of the lift, wait until the enemies’ dot
on your radar goes to the lift or you hear the sound then throw a grenade
where they will land and quickly finish them off for easy kills

I really good tip, when playing ctf on lockout is when u start try to grab
all the power weapons. Go towards the gravlift and jump of the ledge on
the right of the grav-lift this will make u land right on top of the flag,
then grab the flag and head towards the grav-lift again. your team mates
should have tooken our every1 there. Let one of your team mates go up the
lift first incase they got the sniper. Once its clear u go up the gravlift
and then jump of two the left this will make u land near br tower bottom
floor. this way most of the enmy wont kno where u are. While u go there
throw the flag onto br tower lvl 3. ur teammates should go through the
center take the shortcut in br 3 and grab the flag and score.

Hey Podtacular! Here are my Tips for Lockout. On Oddball, it really helps
if you hide under the area on the sides where the front entrance to the
lift is.(The Corrider Above the Green Room). You can jump off when you are
about to die, so you spawn back up to the Oddball before the other team
comes back up. For SWAT, make sure you never walk straight while walking
thru one the corriders, when someones trying to shoot you, constantly sway
from right to left and jump occasionally. Another tip for SWAT is a camping
technique, where you go to the top of the BR tower, and crouch in the
corner across from the barrels. You can assassinate an unspecting victim
or shoot across to the Sniper Tower. if someone comes up and is about to
kill you, shoot the barrels and you will usually kill them along with
killing yourself… or you could just run if you know they’re coming.

If you are playing Team Ball, I suggest trying to hold the Library. Have
the ball carrier stand in a place of relative safety, and then have each
one of your 3 other teamates guard an entrance to the room. Even if your
team can’t defend the room, you will buy some time for the ball carrier to
move to another position.

Here is a good tactic to use if you ever find yourself outnumbered or
without any teamates around while carrying the ball:

If the enemy has you surrounded, don’t try to beat them all down or hope
for your teamates to save you at the last second. Quite often I find
myself on teams where the ball carrier just rushes into a group of enemies
and tries to beat them all down. Don’t deliver the ball to the enemy.
Instead, tell your teamates to head towards the center of the map. Then,
throw the ball off of the map, or jump off yourself. It respawns instantly
in the center of the map, so if your teamates listened to your advice
they’ll be right there to pick up the ball.

when playing oddball go hide in the libary and cover all three ways,if they
start to invade, keep walking into the window and if your killed from
behind, the ball wall fall and will reset

If you are on offense, you can get to the flag faster if you go on top
level of the gravity lift and jump down onto the catwalk. This often
surprises the defenders because they aren’t expecting someone to grab the
flag so quickly. It is best if you have one person go with you and the
another stay on top with the BR to kill anyone trying to get to you. While the three people are making their way back to the flag plant area,
the fourth person should get the sword and guard the flag plant area from
people who might want to assassinate the flag carrier when he/she is about
to score. I have used this tactic many times and it has worked very well
for me.

My tip is, if you are a bad player, at the start of the game, immedeatly
head for the shotgun, once in the green room, you have 2 good choices, A)
you move towards the grav-lift, go up the ramp, jump on the explosive
barrel, then jump into the crevice and crouch, and wait for your
unsuspecting prey or B) go up the ramp and onto the bridge between the
blue room, and the room in the middle: lower floor. What you want to do is
drop down onto the ledge, crouch, they won’t be able to see you unless they
are at the BR tower, if they see you there, switch sides before they get to
you, and just crouch and wait for unsuspecting people.

i have a tip here for anyboby going for the sniper. Don’t look like a newb
and just run for the sniper and get hit by the barrels. that’s what i did
sadly. anyhow just throw a frag or plasma grenade near the barrels and run
around the corner saying Fire in the hole! then go for it. when you get it
and can’t find anybody in the upstair area, just take it downstairs to
that hallway and you should be able to find someone.

here an statgy next time playing Team SWAT on this level. You know that
room under the sniper respond just camp there and wait for someone to come
around the corner. if someone is down the lower part just jump up and kill
him. if someone comes down the hole just kind of get close up and melee
them. It works better with two players and be sure to blown up the barrel
in the room. Remember you have no shelds so don’t be right next to it!
