Why should I play halo CE/PC?
not to sound cocky but please I need a reason.
Ever since i downloaded Mother Goat’s maps for halo ce I have been dieing
to make my own. But i have never done anything like this before. So i
have a few questions.
1.How do you design maps for halo Ce? I downloaded the map editor kit but
its instructions are confusing.
2. Do i need any other software beside the editing kit to make maps?
3.Are there any sites i can get tutorials or could you give me a brief
one?
Hey guys. I have always known what Halo CE was, but never how it worked. I
would like to know if ONLY people who made the game can make the mods, or
its all fan-base. Also, could you possibly give some detail on what kind
of added content is in the game?
yeah, i have a question regarding the maps themselves
how do you go about controlling the amount of space the maps take up on
your computer, cuz i have 30+ gigs of map files and nowhere else to put
them.
besides compression, how do i control the space they take up?
I don’t have an X-box so I spend most of my time in Halo
PC and halo CE. I was wondering why sometimes I get a message saying
“unable to join game” when there seems to be no reason as to why I can’t
join. When I try multiple times with servers like this i keep getting the
same message. Why does this happen? Is it something to do with the host or
the network or something? Thanks for your help. Keep on traggin’
frucks
The lag in Halo PC seems to behave differently than lag that I’ve seen in
online games, including Halo 2. For example, when shooting the pistol in
Halo PC I have to aim way out in front of a person walking perpendicular
to me to hit them. The same goes for the sniper rifle, but when on a LAN I
have to lead my targets very little or not at all. With lag in most games
actions are simply delayed, why does it seem so different for Halo PC?
Is it possible to import custom weapons for use in Halo CE without having
to put it on animations of a Halo weapon? I’ve seen custom weapons that
are put on animations not suited for the weapon (M6D anims on a revolver =
_<), when all that was required was to add the melee and throw grenade
anims onto it the original set (the model was originally from The
Specialists, a Matrix-like Half-Life multiplayer mod).
Hey. So when me and my friend used to play CE we had this awesome map
called chaos gulch. Although chaos gulch has default skins the weapons are
modded. Basically the AR is an automatic rocket launcher, the shotgun
sprays out fuel rod (the original fuel rod which had energy and overheated
as opposed to rounds like in H2), plasma pistol shot v.explosive fuel rod,
rockets shot a huge clump of a needler, the sniper does explosive rounds
and much much more.
Alright i have done some map building my self and lets just say it is a
complicated process, the most i have been able to accomplish was
rebuilding bloodgulch to have elites running around tryin to kill you
while you could get in a cov. dropship or a pelican, and skinning, which i
can still do so just contact me at-if you air this i give you permission to
say this email on the air-hunterthedanceman@gmail.com
I say a video of halo CE and you could aim like in call of duty 2 down the
sights of your gun. I thought this was pretty cool mod. I was wonder who
makes the mods? Are they user created or do the other people make them and
get paid? It would be cool it the stuff on halo CE good be ported to the
XBOX.
First off, I would like to say I LOVE HALO 1!Anyways, I was thinking about
buying halo pc for my mac, but i was curious if you could use a xbox 360
controller instead of a keyboard? Just curious, and thank you for
answering.
Hi guyès i want you to post this on the show because i neeeeeed some
answers. First and formost, whaat is a good 3d animating thing for me to
make maps onÉ secondly, what are the other programs i need so i can
import my map to halo CEÉ and last but not least, how can i get people to
download itÉ I hope that one of you people will answer me. I also have a
you know you… joke. ok here it is. you know you listen to too much
podtacular if you put it on your iPod and fall asleep with it on every
night. I guess i listen to too much podtacular. sorry about the és and
És it is just because my computer is like stuck like that. Start nailing
trucks!
“The Halo Custom Edition game (Halo CE) is a free unsupported upgrade and
standalone program that will install alongside of your Halo PC game.
Unlike Halo PC The Halo CE game allows you to play and or create custom
maps for multiplayer on-line play.” -Halomaps.org
That’s the basic part of it. Halo CE, of course is a customizable version
of the Halo PC Retail. Gamers can make their own maps which can be used
for a totally new online experience. There are a few key areas that are
focus on customizing.
1. Maps
3rd party software is required like 3ds max or gmax where you can make
maps from scratch and import textures. Many people make their own or
revamp current maps, like Blood Gultch or Ascention.
2. Weapons
People can design their own weapons, projectiles, and effects that make
them purely unique. Some ideas that came from Halo CE are being
implemented into the current Halo 3 project: i.e. the spike grenade. Some
have become dual-weldable.
3. Vehicles
Some people make new vehicles like hoverboards or modify “undrivable”
vehicles like the pelican and covenant dropship.
4. Bipeds
Some gamers have made it to where you can play as grunts, marines,
hunters, etc. all based on what team you are on.
5. Finally, UIs
People have made menus with different font type and sizes and have changed
the background to be a map like Zanzibar. The HUD can also be changed to
be like the updated Halo 2 HUD or different.
That’s Halo CE in a nutshell. There is stil a whole lot more, but I tried
to keep it short.
I will put some pictures in the forums. More info at halomaps.org
Halo CE is awesome and all but at frist, why was it created and is there
going to be a halo 2 custom edition for windows vista?
Hey guys. There were just a few things i was wondering about Halo CE. My
first question is, is there a story line or is it just customizing things.
My second question is, is the game very glitchy because i’ve heard there’s
alot of customization. My last question is, how much exactly can you
customize? Can you make vehicles, make spartans, and make the maps? Those
are all my questions. Keep up the good work with the show!
if you don’t play HALO PC, you are missing out! there are a lot of awsome
people that play online (like me). the new weapons and vehicles pwn. if
you like to play team matches, a good game to join is RED_VS_BLUE. they
only have team matches set up. if you ever play here, look for me. my
name is wazn00bcak3 (wazn n00bcak3 doesn’t fit)
How do you mod for halo pc? And how long does it take and where can i find them
Hi this is the one and only Mythic-Elite. I have no xbox live. So to
entertain myself i play Halo PC. It is a good multiplayer experiance even
though Halo 2 is better. I have some comments on the game for all the
people out there who dont know anything.
1. Halo PC/CE does not have any auto-aim or anything. The developers for
the PC version did not put in auto-aim to compensate for the lag. The game
is a pure skill based experiance. If you can’t shoot a sniper rifle, then
don’t ever play snipers on blood gulch in this game. It takes skill and
anticipation since there is no auto-aim. In Halo 2 you could just
swipe-snipe and you would be fine. Here a swipe-snipe can be the
difference between life and death because no shot follows the target.
2. There are fuel-rod guns and flame-throwers and rocket warthogs in the
game. They were added along as bonuses to the PC version. They work
wonderfully in gameplay. the rocket hog has a powerful 3 barreled rocket
that is the usual 1 hit kill. To compensate you only get 3 shots and it
takes a while to reload and it isn’t accurate at longer distances. The
flamethrower is devastating at short range. a quick 4 second burst is
enough to drop the enemy. The initial flame does damage and the flames
stick to you as if it were in real life. You recieve burn damage and your
shields and health will slowly drop. It is worthless at anything beyond
short range as any other weapon can make mince-meant out of it. The one
other plus about this weapon is that it works suprisingly well against
charging warthogs. If the hog misses, you can simply fire at the point
blank range and the flames will engulf the hog dealing damage to every
single occupant in the hog. Combine this with a thrown frag grenade to the
ground and you can get a easy triple kill if the hog is loaded. The fuel
rod cannon is the parralell to the rocket launcher. It holds more ammo in
the battery but each shots does half the damage a rocket does -
aprroximetly – and if fired continuously it becomes highly un-accurate as
the shots arc away in different locations. These
are all balanced additions to the Halo CE game and make it all the more
fun.
Now to Halo Custom Edition. this is modders heaven. IF you have a nack for
messing with maps and making goofy yet fun maps; this is your game. I have
seen maps that are set in craters in the moon all the way up to gigantic
maps that have longswords and pelicans. Yes I just said longswords and
pelicans as viechles. These maps are modded for pure fun. And most of them
are. There is a branch of “Halo 2” labeled maps that are what they say.
Some maps are re-creations of favourites such as ivory tower and lockout
all the way to brand-new Halo 2 inspired maps. The maps don’t just look
like Halo 2, but the character model is changed as well. There is a Halo 2
style HUD in the game and all the weapons are Halo 2 style as well. There
is also no health. There are weapons such as BR, Sword, and tracking
rockets. The veichles are destructible and there is even dual-wielding
available. There is even a map called Cold Snap which has MECHs and other
wild creations that make the game soo much fun.
The other part of Halo Custom Edition is that it is a FREE download but
you need to have a valid Halo CD KEY and a Halo Combat Evolved game cd.
The maps need to be downloaded otherwise you cannot join a game that is
using a particular map. I personally had around 2.5 gigs worth of Custom
Edition maps before i stopped playing it. It is well worth the time and
space to play the game.
Also a note on how servers kick or ban you. If you are banned from a
server – and yes it can happen if your teammates get in the way of your
grenades to often – you are screwed. The only way to play on that server
is to have the server operator take your name off the ban-list. If the
person won’t do that you need to get a new copy of Halo PC, a new cd key.
Why? The banning system bans your CD key so you can never enter the server
again. Just a fair warning to all you players out there.
Has anyone heard about the site mac.clanhalo.net? It’s about a community
that plays the Halo one demo for macs. Usually when you get the demo all
you can do is either play CTF or slayer but they have been able to mod it
so that you can play oddball and king of the hill and all the other cool
stuff. They have also been able to get pistols to shoot rockets, sniper
rifles to shoot tank missiles, and also to get the shotgun to shoot fuel
rods like it does the pellets or whatever it is. I thought it was pretty
interesting how they were able to get around all the demo locks and stuff
but I’ve been wondering how they were able to do it.
